What happens when you die? I have a family of 6: Two elders, two adults and two grandchildren. Now the elders are close to their final days, and my question is: They are loaded with cash, but what happens to all this money when they die? Their children and grandchildren live in another house, does this influence anything?
Everyone in their family and anyone they have close relationships with, such as best friends or lovers in another household, will inherit some cash. When you play the other house of a relative or best friend shortly after your elder dies, a tombstone with a "simoleon-sign" symbol will appear over their head, and you'll see their bank account go up the appropriate amount.
If you don't have a family member living in the house, you will not get the full amount when they die. So it's better to have someone move in for their final day.
