baby wont grow I have a newborn baby, I once got a message saying it was one day away for his birthday, but carried on playing and forgot all about it, some time later I buy a birthday cake and bring the baby to the cake but he doesn't grow.. in fact the baby is alot more than 3 days old and still doesn't grow, now I can't even choose to throw a birthday party on the phone.. Is this baby screwed up now?
Try deleting the baby. This might sound drastic but it won't kill it (surprisungly enough!) First activate the "moveobjects" cheat. Press -C- while holding down the [SHIFT] and [Ctrl] keys together. A white strip will appear at the top of the screen. In this type moveobjects on (it doesn't have to be in red tho! ) The select go into buy mode and select the hand tool. You should be able to move the baby around and when you have it press the [Delete] key. Poof it's gone! Now what? You're no doubt wondering. Save the game and return to the neighborhood screen and then go back to you family. Ta da! The baby will be laying around on the grass near the road. (It might even be a toddler! On the other hand it should now be possible to take it to a cake). One possibility that might be causing trouble is that you might have aging set to off. This is a cheat code so make sure your other sims are actually aging (getting older). Evidence this is happening can be seen (and heard) at 6pm every day when every sim's age bar goes all wavery and loses another day of life. If you are not setting aging off and your sims aren't aging take a look in C:\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Config\ and see if you have a file named userStartup.cheat (its unlikely but not impossible that you could've got one from a download). If that file is there just rename it to stop it working to see if you problem is cured. Hope something there helps.
