Anyone notice more abductions? Or do I need to run my clean installer again? I haven't downloaded anything ON PURPOSE just in case I would get a hack that would screw up Uni. Well, I have this couple, both knowledge sims. They were the ones I was telling you about that got engaged in college, and I moved them into the townhouse and was able to move him in and marry them off. Anyway, the husband, Calvin, wanted the expensive telescope. I bought it for him and the second he looked through it, the abduction cinematic started rolling (COOL!!) He gave birth to baby Orion a few sims-days later, my first true alien baby!! While he was pregnant, wife Tina wanted to gain a logic point, so I had her use the telescope. Bam, she was abducted, too!!! The only time I've ever had abductions was when I downloaded the abduction hack by mistake. Think I did it again, or think that I finally won the alien baby lottery?
I don't agree. I have had only 2 abductions - never had the hack. (I know!! OK!!) Same sim both times. Both times within sim minutes of starting to gaze. The first baby had only just become a toddler when the second was born. I thought that was too much ... but it never happened again ... or did it ......... LOL
Well, I ran the Clean Installer, and just as I thought there were no hacks. So it must have just been a fluke! Wow! I can't wait to play tonight and raise little Orion into a toddler to see what he looks like. I understand most Alien babies look alike as infants? It might be fun to raise him and turn him loose in my little hillbilly society.
My first sim couple had an alien baby once and boy was she ugggggggggly!. I promised myself that next time, I will Social Services get the baby, so I don't have to look at it. JT at MTS2 says they look like roadkill and I agree. So he's made a small hack that allows you to replace the Pollination Tech with a better looking one. http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=31780&page=1&pp=25 I haven't tried it myself but I will eventually.
My Sims haven't had an abduction yet. And they spend a lot of time stargazing in the appropriate hours. (I even forgot one of them while he was stargazing and nothing happened. I usually have them cancel out of the action as soon as they have fulfilled that want. I don't want them abducted.)
The knowledge sims love being aducted. Once they are abucted their wants are clogged up with wishes to meet aliens, or to have family members meet aliens. Unfortunately the other family members at the same all get fears of either being aducted or having someone aducted, so it's pretty hard to fulfill that want without calling Dr. shrink.
I must have a hack that's not showing up on the CleanInstaller, because as soon as I had Calvin look into the telescope again last night, he was abducted again. I was playing with the sound off (Hubby trying to watch TV ) so I didn't hear the "baby tones". Do adult men always come back pregnant? If so, then little Orion is expecting 2 siblings on the same day, because mom Tina is in the early stages of pregnancy, too! With both Mom and Dad puking and passing out, I'm going to have a time playing that family!!! LMAO!!
Sorry to be rub it in Kristal but I had the same scenario with my first attempt at a legacy family. It happened twice in a row. So I had two sets of "twins" in close succession -- each time it was a boy from pop, green and ugly, and each time mom had a gir. Her third child was a girl too so I was holding my breath when her fourth was on the way. It was the 8th member of the family and only the first two had become teens! Luckily it was a boy so I was able to have her woohoopian tubes ligated.
