That should run it, but with that grapics card, it won't run it well. None of the Intel cards are T&L enabled. They all require at least 2.0ghz processor (which you at least have) and more than 512mb of RAM. (They "siphon off" some of the RAM, so that it's not as usable. You may have put in 512mb but it will act more like you have only 500mb.)

You'll be able to play with what you have, but you'll probably have to turn the graphics options way down and make sure there are no running processes in the background. (The little manual which comes with the game has several pages of discussion on how to get the best performance from a system. You'll want to use those directions unless you get a much better video card.)

If you do get another video card, then make sure you get at least something of the level of FX5200 or Radeon 9200, but if possible try to get something at least FX5700 or Radeon 9600. Avoid any card which has they letters SE or LE in it because those are stripped down models which do not work as well as the card it's based on. For example, a Radeon 9600SE works almost poorer than a Radeon 9200. (See the various benchmarking tests on the video cards for details.)

This was a very common question back last summer. You might want to search the BBS for details on how to update your video card.

    Sorry to ask, but...
    I have :
    384 MB of RAM
    GeForce 4 graphics card
    1.33 Ghz (Celeron)

I wanted to know whether this will run TS2 AND TS2U well?

But not with a 270W Power supply, mind you
I'd rather expect that he/she would have to upgrade that as well (to 350W at least)
The better the video card the higher the power consumption!! (I don't think that would be any different on PCI Express Slots)

Valerie The short answer is yes! (So long as you have plenty of hard disc space-- I'd say at least 7 gigabytes - Maxis say 3.5 but if that's all you have you run into trouble for sure.) You may also need to update your Directx and video drivers (downloadable from Microsoft and other places)

The long answer is that the game will chug and keep stalling while your puter catches up. Large houses and families will slow things down too and the game's video settings and movie settings will need to be set to very low levels for the game to run tolerably well. However you can add more memory ( increase it to 1GB (1,000MB)) and even better add a funky new graphic card such as the GeForce FX 5700. Those 2 items will set you back up to $400 tho and you might also need a new power supply too.

But the short answer still applies. The game should run at minimum settings.
