Get Special career objects in secret society

How do you buy your own career objects for use in the secret society? And does anyone know the use of the virus that can be made in the BioLab. All i can do is dispose of it.

To make a secret society lot with the reward items on it, you need to make the house using a regular family getting those reward objects, then turn it into a society lot after you've killed off the family (since if they move out you lose the objects). (I actually moved someone I didn't like in with them, then had them move out leaving the disliked Sim behind. Then I didn't feel so bad when the Cow Plant got them.)

As to the virus, do dispose of it. Your Sim can take it, but then they'd get really sick. (And it can take 10 days for them to die. Yuck.)

The other products of the Biolab can be sold as soon as you make them, or givin to a sick Sim to cure them.

Edit, almost forgot this part: there is a mod at ModTheSims 2 which allows you to buy the reward items. I've not used it, so I don't know if they updated it for university or not. I suspect that there is a boolprop thing for getting the career objects too, but I don't use boolprop.

But are students allowed to get career rewards?

Students can't have regular jobs. You have to make the house in a regular neighborhood (not the University neighborhood), then send it to the specialty lots/house bin.

You do that by moving the neighborhood house that you want to use as a dorm or secret society or Greek house to the regular lot catalog.

Then you find the file you just modified in the \My Documents\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\LotCatalog. Look for the newest lot by sorting under "date modified."

Then copy that lot into The Sims 2>TSData>Res>LotTemplates and rename it so that it is something along the lines of Name_Permanent.package (as adding the permanent part allows it to be left there in case you want to use it for other universities you might have.)

Then all you have to do is exit that and restart the game. You should then find it in the Specialty Lot catalog.

Once you've made your university, then you can place your new secret society where you want it. Make sure it's where you want it, because once it's changed from a regular lot to a society lot it will be invisible. Then go into the house, change it to a society lot by typing ChangeLotZoning secretsociety into the cheat box, then exit the lot. If it doesn't disappear, then pick it up (as if you were going to move or rotate it), and then put it back down. It should then become invisible.

Oh, and one little hint that I learned the hard way: don't put everything possible into the society lot. Otherwise it tends to run very slowly. (I have a pretty good computer, but if you aren't running something with at least a Radeon X800 or Geforce 6800, with a really fast processor and lots of RAM, you'll want to make sure that your society lot isn't more heavily laden with goodies or size than the 3 premade society lots are.)
