Problems installing TSU I got my TSU today and I tried installing it, when it reaches 99%, it says "This product will nt ensure that your existing installation is up to date", so I selected "ok" and it just wouldnt update, it has an error saying it cant update. I don't know whats wrong, I read the thread on preparin the pc b4 we install it and did exactly everything written there, but it just wouldnt update, please help me out here P.S: Im using the original game
i had the same problem. i had to take sims 2 out and reinstall it and then install uni. i dont know if that was right but thats how i did it.
You may need a fresh install. It could be that something in your original game had become corrupted. (Crashes, especially during a save, and some hacks can cause that to happen.) So, the best thing to do is to save your "game" outside of the My Documents\EA GAMES file (as it explains in the thread you mentioned), then uninstall TS2. Then resinstall TS2, check to make sure it's working correctly, then install TS2U. Unless you mean that you are trying to install TS2U on the original TS1. They are incompatible with each other. You can have TS1 on your computer but you can't add TS2U to it. It can only be added to TS2.
Ok, Ive reinstalled the TS2 and now TS2U works, but I have a very lame question, the 'update' thingy it does (when you're gonna finish installing TS2U) , is it the 'patch fix' that was released sometime back to fix the other problems? Because before TS2U was released, maxis had released a 'patch fix' and I installed it to fix the bugs etc, so I was wondering, is the 'updater' thing that happens at the end of the installation for TS2U the 'patch fix'? If it is, then maybe that was the cause of why the game wouldnt allow the update, which made me have to reinstall TS2? P.S: I hope Im making sense
