Getting Married I have some questions about my adult sims getting married. First, I take it that whoever's house you have the wedding at, that's the last name the sim will receive once married? Also- how can I make my sims be in the right position in the family pictures? I want the guys to be the head of the family and holding the girls like they do when I make a new family, but whenever I have sims get married, the girls usually stand in the male pose...can I change that? Does it just have to do with their personalities? Thanks!
Maybe I'm making the question too confusing...I'm just wondering why when I'm loading a family and you see the family picture, the girl sometimes holds the guy, and the guy holds the baby...or something like that. When I create a family they usually have the mom holding the baby, but somehow when my sims grow up and I have them get married, the position in the pic changes...does anyone have any ideas??? Please...lol...this is bugging me! Thanks for any replies!
Hey EvnstrPrncss, I would really like to be able to help you out with this one, but unfortunately I really have no idea!! Personally I believe that it is randomly generated and there is no way that you can alter the way the screen loads, maybe try some experiments like who proposes engagement, who's house they marry in, and who asks for the marriage to go ahead, maybe even if they have a wedding party or not could play an effect as well. As to marrying and last names, that one always confuses me, but after doing a little search on the matter, I believe the general consensus is that it's who ever does the proposing of marriage, or the first to the arch that keeps their last name and the other changes to that regardless of who's lot you are on. Anyway, hope that helps even a little to answering your questions, if you do try some experiments, please let us know how you go.
Okay, I'll try to help the best I can. 1) Taking a name: You didn't say if the intended "name" was the husband's or the wife's, so I'm going to go the traditional route. Say you want her to take his last name. Go to his lot if he's a playable charector. If he's a townie or a college Sim, then you must 1st move him into her household. (Propose: Move In. Do not click on Married/Joined at that point!) Okay, so now that you have control of Mr. Man, have him call a wedding party. Then send HIM to the arch and click on "get married." Nice Family Sims are more likely to be the ones holding the baby. Outgoing , Playful sims are usually the ones making the bunny ears behind their family member's head.
Thanks for the suggestions...I think you're right about the poses being related to personality. I'll just keep trying different things to see what happens.
