    flickering cursor

Hello...I'm new...can anyone tell me why the arrow cursor constantly flickers when I try to play Sims2? I am running it on a laptop, using OS Windows XP. Graphics seem ok.

Best wishes from across the herring pond.

I have it as well. I just think it's normal - the whole system is supporting the main feaures of the game. That is a lot of stress on the computer. I've forgiven it for the little flickers. I ignore it.

I never had an issue with my cursor until I decreased the hardware acceleration for my graphics card - an attempt to keep my driver from freezing my game and forcing me to restart my computer. The change didn't stop the driver problem, but it did cause my cursor to start flickering.

I moved the hardware acceleration back up to full, and it stopped flickering again. Not sure if this applies to anyone else, but thought I'd mention it just in case.

Is it a USB mouse? I have issues with my mouse sometimes going into flicker mode ... usually I find that swearing at it causes it to stop and reconsider its childish behaviour.

Occasionally it turns out that my cat had been playing with the stylus for my Wacom tablet and left it rolling about on the pad competing with the mouse for control of the cursor arrow ... this can be very confoozical for an old tart like yours truly
