ROTFLMAO!! Oh, yes, I'm sure he will. One thing Slim likes is a tidy board, don'tcha Slim. :p

I had the corupted lot problem occur, Sims not leaving, etc. Luckilly it was a dorm and not a greek house, so I just moved out my sim (the only one who was not a townie residing in the dorm), moved her into another dorm, and life was fine. As to the aburpt dropping out, I have no clue.

Last night while playing I decided to "slaughter the cow" by putting dear Crystal (Hubby laughed at the irony of me killing off Crystal, BTW) in an outbuilding with no doors. Pretty soon her annoying friend Hailey the cheerleader joined her. Hailey died, but Crystal never did. Is this an evil joke that Maxis decided to play on up: the Cow, the most annoying player in the game, is imortal? Or is this just yet another problem with a Greek House lot?

Weirdly enough I had exactly the same thing occur with Ricky Cormier (sic?) when I moved him in with one of my sims... he went off to write his freshman final exam, got the same message ... and was shipped off without a degree back to the neighbourhood. I had no idea why it happened, but I decided to carry on playing him as if he'd been kicked out of college, so with the measly 4k he got after leaving (I'm using JMP's no-20k-handout hack) .. he managed to buy a small lot and start making some money and a life ... ironically his life ended while he was making money ... in a tragic counterfeiting machine fire... guess he wasn't the luckiest sim around... :)

Oh man that is just so wickedly funny. I got so worked up the first time that darn machine caught fire. I mean shouldn't have some kinda warning notice on it or sumpink. Scuse me while I go dry my eyes.:D

Well before the fire, I had a lot of fun playing him ... it was interesting buying an empty lot for 3k ... then having 1k to spend on a minifridge, a basin, toilet and chair. I got him a job, he got his first few paychecks, and slowly I managed to build him up a house, with 1 bedroom, living area, kitchen and toilet ... all while happily using the counterfeit machine to make as much money as possible. Then as I was about to refurnish his house and get his quite wealthy fiance to move in, the tragedy occurred...

While I was doing this I realised that you can buy a bookcase, get your sim to read a book, put it on the floor, then sell the bookcase again the same day for the full price ... and your sim can still use the book lying on the floor to read/study ... :D

That is a funny story, and the unexpected fires keep the game interesting, but if you don't want to lose a sim to fire, money trees are much safer. I have a single mom with two of them who just quit her job as a paranormalist (ran out of vacation days) so she can stay home until her child is a teenager.

She just harvests the trees three times a day and paints pictures to sell. Plus she saved up a lot of cash while she was working, so staying home for the six days her daughter is a child should be easy.

And in the meantime she can work on her lifetime want of maxxing out her skills, though I find the housework gets in the way. Maybe I could hire a maid. I think she's got enough to cover that.

Last night the flies were swarming and I swear they were getting bigger ... nipped them in the bud just in time I think.

Why is it my own house can be a mess and yet I hate it when my sim houses are? :D

I haven't been reading this thread, and I thought it was high time I did, judging from its popularity. Firstly, I must say that I have absolutely NO PROBLEM watching the sims writh in horror and misery as they die, be it from drowning, starvation, the fire, etc. I actually think it makes the game interesting. Not everyone dies of old age....actually, I haven't had a sim die from old age since I got the game! Shows how evil I am...

And, reading all of these stories, I REALLY WANT TO GET UNI! The biggest reason being the Cow Plant, but the other things are good, too. All the new items and hairstyles and stuff, and the new options....but, alas, I'm dirt poor. That makes me wonder. How many simoleons(sp?) is equal to the US dollar?

Judging from the cheapness of the houses, I'd say about $5 to every U.S. $1.

Uni isn't that expensive and you might find it on sale if you look around ... But I do remember when $35 seemed like a lot of money to me as well, so I sympathize.

Maybe you could mow a few lawns? Water someone's plants while they're away? Walk the neighbor's dog? I'd suggest babysitting but I somehow suspect it's not your cuppa tea. :D

If I got into the babysitting job, I'd never be hired again by the same person. ;)
I'd probably end up making the little kid cry, which would make me laugh, but...

Person, your father wouldn't happen to be JM Pescado? No? You sure, because you have a frightenly similar attitiude toward laughing at crying kids. ;)

I'd be a lot worse off if Pescado were my dad.

Well, that's true. I have a mental image of him as a father poking his sleeping infant with a stick to "toughen him up" and then laughing when the baby cried. :D

You know, there's a thread over at Variousimmers that discusses what kind of a person JMP is in real life. I think the reigning theory is that he's in prison somewhere. ;)
