Manifest Destiny Reproduces This has to mean something (Lord knows what) but I just got my first set of twins, woohoo and I do mean that. After just 3 attempts, Manifest Destiny and her new spouse Samuel Oz had twins. She is dark and thin and he is blonde and chubby and the babies, Sanpo and Denki (girl and boy) are as dark as Manifest. I'm just a thrilled little god-mommy and can't wait to raise them and have them reproduce with more blondes to see how the racial mix goes. Too bad Samuel was fired as fast-food manager... but they'll get by. Oooh, two cribs, two of everything, hurray.
So far, so good. Right now I have 5 infants between 3 households and everyone is fine. (Well, some of the adults are wretched but that's life, eh?) With the babies it's just staying on task: cuddle, play, give bottle, change diaper, bathe, put in crib, repeat. Kind of a wash-and-rinse cycle. I get babies so I can name them and for a little genetic manipulation.
Twin madness. It's tough! Daddy had to quit work. He was just a burger flipper anyway. He has family aspiration but apparently that means playing games with his friends. This isn't as much fun. Mom's off teaching science and longing to go to sleep. Everyone's exhausted and grumpy, wishing for social time in the hot tub and video games, but little Denki and Sanpo are hyperactive little toilet twirlers now, pooping in their pants and waking up the folks at 3 a.m. Meters in the red! This too shall pass.
What a nightmare!! my Wong's sims family has only 2 kids and the family is already is in chaos!!!
I can run babies with nearly zero intervention. Fear the Automated Baby Controller: Within lies my mathematically precise, algorithmic baby care procedures.
Which is all well and good, but it is much better to have the loving care and attention of two live-in nannies/maids/gardeners/ex-townies such as Marsha and Chandler. Sorry Marsha ... you wanted to call me constantly ... now please go feed the babies and after that toss them in the air ... I'm sure they will love it.
Twins to finish the family Thought I'd create a big family of five children so Imogen and Jim Milton got to work and produced 3 strapping lads. Then they got down to making baby number 4 and lo and behold up popped twins (both boys again). Well, Imogen had already given up work to raise the rest of the brood and luckily Kenny Milton had grown into a teen so he took a turn at looking after the twins when he could. It got a bit hairy when Barnie started dropping grades at school because he had to do Kenny's share of the chores and was threatened with the social worker, but it all worked out in the end and Kenny has now moved out to start his own large family. Oh the joys of parenthood
Just curious, garyalexza, but how did you get Marsha and Chandler to move in with you? I thought you couldn't invite children to move in ...
I am using a teleporter shrub that can be found on Inge's site at www.simlogical.com It allows you to teleport in townies and move them in if you want. I am using this same item to create sims in CAS and make them into townies. Along with Pescado's notownieregen mod, this allows me to bump off the townies and replace them. I have a special house that I use for this with a placeholder sim (called Dr James Peculiar). It has a plastic surgery machine in it which allows me to change townies looks if I want, plus some other mods (like Merola's painting) that allow me to manipulate townies to my hearts desire. I have one of these houses in each neighbourhood (each with a different Dr Peculiar ) for this sole purpose. If necessary, you can also use the Tombstone of L & D to perform other things like changing the age on the townies, which I have used previously on Marsha and Chandler, but not often since then.
I never played with hacks ... mostly from hearing "All hacks are bad" on the EA BBS. After some research, I started using some hacks, and got to like the features and annoyance/bug fixes. When put in perspective, no matter how much I like TS2, and how much I like certain mods, if my game ever does "explode in a fiery ball visible from space" as Pescado would say, it generally will not make a huge difference in the greater scheme of things. Just re-install and restore from backup. Everybody backs up right? Well I do religiously, so much so I have backups of OTHER peoples data.
