Building a lot Since a fiew weeks I play the Sims 2. Really like it! Before I played Sims 1. How can I build my own lot?
I suggest taking the tutorial called "how to play." It's on the main menu and there's a tutorial on building.
Thanks, I know how to build etc. But on Sims 1 you could also buy a peace of land to build on... Does it say how to do it in 'how to play'?
Building on the lots on TS2 are very similar to building on TS1. !st you have to place a lot by clicking the "Lot" icon in the "Neighborhood" screen, then clicking on the lot size you want, and then dragging it to where you would like it to be placed. The lot will turn from red to green when it's in the right spot. It has to be placed on land that has no water or neighborhood decorations on it, and the top part of the lot that looks like a road has to match up with the road on the neighborhood. Next, you choose "Residential" for a house, or "community" for a community lot. LOL Finally, if you are building a residential lot, it will ask you to move in a family or click to build. If you want to build the house 1st, then double click and go into "build" mode, just like on TS1. There are plently of tutorials online for building tips and tricks. I personally learned a lot from this site: http://forums.worldsims.net/showthread.php?t=5419, also there are some building tutorials on the official site, www.thesims2.com, you just run a search. There are even pictures with screeshots that people have created. Welcome to World Sims. Please stay and enjoy the conversation when you are not Simming.
Hi Leveline I got the feeling you want to know how to get a nice empty lot that you can just build away on, right? In the neighborhood view click on the housing button and you get some new buttons appear. One shows a house, another is a bulldozer another is all arrows (lets you pick up houses and move them around) and there is also an empty lot button (looks like a square of land) ... you can choose the size of the plot, name it and decide if it will be residential or community. After that you can move some sims onto it and build a house while they wait or else you can just go straight in and build whatever you like without money worries. It doesn't actually cost anything until you want to move in a family of sims.
Thanks Mirelly, that was exactacly what I ment! Thanks, also to the other that send me a reaction! Gonna try it out now!
