Some object recolors not showing up

Here's my problem: When I download recolored objects, I can only use them if the original object had more than one color to choose from. If the original only came in one color, I can't find the recolor anywhere. I tried using the design tool, that doesn't make it show up either. I have the latest color option enabler installed and I'm running the Mac version, has this happened to anyone else?

I have a similar problem, in that sometimes custom content shows as a blank blue mask of the object. I know that means the recolor didn't download properly, but does anyone know an easy way of tracking down which one it was? For example, I downloaded five potty chairs and two of them are blank. I can't remember the date ... is there a way to find out the name?

Would reloading all my downloads solve the problem? I may have missed one ...

I had the same potty problem, even with CEP installed some of them still wouldn't show up, I know where I got them from, but have't tried reinstalling or anything as yet so can't really help you  .

When you get a blue or black "shadow" (often flashing) it usually means that the object texture has something wrong with it. It can be that it's duplicate information or just wasn't reconciled properly. Unfortunately, it's not usually something that redownloading will help unless the maker has fixed the problem in the meantime.

This is especially common with objects which were made with editions of SimPE which are not considered "EP ready." There was a change in how SimPE worked which was easier after that, so that it didn't require the same "reconciling" that the older editions of SimPE required. (And when those were used with the EP, the problem was even more noticeable.)

Unfortunately, when that happens about all you can do is to delete it.

Thanks for the info! I'll just go ahead and do that then.

I do have one chair that shows blue in the picture but is just fine in the game ... but that probably just means the creator didn't bother with a swatch, eh?
