    'The thinking cap'

I made my male sim, Leo (hes a gardener, you may have seen him around) i made him buy a thinking cap, hoping it would up his skills so it would get him a job promotion but i have had the cap on all day and nothing is happened. He is in the best mood and aspiration level. What is going on!

You have to study in order for the thinking cap to work, it's like the smart milk, your sim will learn faster.

    Thanks.
I think it has run out though, is that possible, the green light isnt on and the option to wear the thinking cap isnt availbe what has happened.

Yeah, they do run out after a while and the only good thing for it, is to delete it and get another one. Word of warning, only wear the thinking cap, along with all the other award stuff, when your sim is gold or above, or else nasty things will happen.:p

I was certain I had replied to this cos I even found the link I was going to post ... hm senile dementia already ... <worries>

Pescado's lovely little ASPRecharge.zip mod is a great addition to the game. It doesn't gift you anything but the time it takes a sim to stop studying, take off dead hat, put it down, get new hat, go back to studying. The recharge can be done at anytime whether it is being worn or not and any sim with spendable ASP points can do the recharging.

Anyone who has ever had a sim frantically studying up a crucial skill ... almost there almost there ... with the car pool honking like a constipated goose and you're thinking ... aw poo! If only he hadn't wasted the best part of half an hour changing thinking caps he'd be on the way to work and a nice promotion by now.

You know it makes sense. :)

I hardly ever use Aspiration items other than the money tree and Elixir of Life. And, just because of you, Mirelly (I hope you feel special because of it) whenever I hear a car honking, be it in the game or in RL, I will think of constipated geese. *Shakes head sadly*

Oh those money trees! I soon got fed up of those when every Tom, Mortimer or Harry stopped by to help themselves. I decided that (for my sims) it was more profitable to go to work! :p

in my case, ive got Merola's multi painting my house as a kind of "emergency". for example: if a toddler is about to grow up in less than a day and they still havent learned to walk or talk yet, i can either take their age down a bit with the painting and work on those skills, or bump their ASP up and use the smartmilk to speed up the learning process :)

Ah but ... (oh dear I am starting to feel like Gramma Walton or someone equally crusty) I found that whenever I have Merola's painting on the premises I use it to cure everything. I have to force myself to be good and only buy it on the odd occasion that I really can't be bothered to wait to make good a deficit caused by my own mismanagement. I then sell it again immediately to avoid the temptation.

I'm soo conservative that it's only recently that I gave in and got all Pescado's hacks ... mostly because he had finally relented and put them all into one big warm and fuzzy package -- like what I suggested months ago and have only recently recovered from the lip reconstruction surgery ... if you've been to a zoo recently and noticed an orang utan that was snarling at everyone ... well, it wasn't snarling (well it might have been but that'd be pure conjecture!) it looked mean cos I got its lips. I am the only woman in my neighborhood who can suck a banana out of its skin without using my hands ... which is kinda handy for playing TS2 on the puter. Hmmm. I owe Mr P a debt of gratitude and I bet he didn't see that back-handed plaudit coming :p

If left alone and not harvested, will the money tree grow into a BIG tree? When I had one I ended up putting a fence around it 'cos the idiotic nanny decided to make her pockets a little heavier!

OH LOL. The wishful thinking that goes with speed reading. I read your message first as: If left alone and not harvested, the money tree will grow into a BIG tree? 'Funny how the mind plays tricks on us isn't it? I thought I'd missed a really big secret. :p

You could always put the money trees into a room guarded by Pescado's security system set to lockout everyone exept your sims.

No, if left alone and not harvested, your money tree will not grow into a big tree. It will simply grow into a dead tree.

Just out of curiousity how much money has anyone got off the money tree my highest is $40 simoleons ;)

$40 is the maximum, and Mirelly I'm still getting my head around the whole banana thing ... that's um, quite a talent.

I have yet to use any hacks because I have dialup at home and am too impatient to wait for anything to download. But I hear they're very nice. I've been enjoying my sims having less than perfect lives without the hacks. One of my couples has been on the verge of breakup three times, now they're all lovey dovey again and plotting to cheat behind each other's backs ... who knew marrying off romance sims to each other could be so much fun?

Oh, anyone with an orang utan's lips can do it.

I can't say what I really want to say without getting banned for life so I'll depend upon your superior intellect to figure it out. :D

It's lucky for you that my brain is on its way out because otherwise I would probably have realised that I should ban you for life ... why is that I am in the all the threads that go off-topic?

Actually unbeknown to anyone (until now that is), SBW is actually Mirelly's second logon personality (or vice versa), that is used to hijack all threads and turn them into off topic conversations! Join the protest now! hurrah! Oh and KristalRose is in on it too....

Watch this space as the intricate plot unfolds...
