    Problem with game

My sister was playing last night and no problem now I go in if you look at where it says what your job title is and there is no sympol for that job next to it, plus when you go into the memories section there are no pictures or symbols where they should be. You can still click on them or hover your mouse pointer over them and it will tell you and show what those memories are but as i said there is no picture for each memory as there should be. Also the little square of what you do in the top left corner of the screen for when you send your folks off to their jobs doesn't show the job symbol. What the heck is wrong?

    thanks

Thanks Krystalrose I really appreciate it :) , however I really don't want to go through all that mumbo jumbo, knowing me I'll probably mess something up and screw my game up completely, I don't have much luck with computers.:(

Hopefully they will patch it soon and get rid of it forever.

It seems to me it's a new bug with university....

I was going to start a new thread before I found this one. I have run into the same problem--disappearing work icons. Phooey! I was starting a census, going through my neighborhoods, checking in on the families, getting ready for Nightlife. I got through Rocky Town and Ghost Town (40 people, 15 families) when, oh, bummer, I noticed there was no work icon coming up when someone went to work, just a blue square. Some other minor glitches, people jumping up suddenly from their seats. Maybe it was that dreadful toy car which only one family had in their house. I deleted it. Maybe it was my checking in on so many families in succession. Anyway, I'm going to try out the 'fix' above. I'll let you know if it works. I'd sure hate to have to re-install. :( I've still got Miseria, Baltimore (a BIG town full of families,) Fate and New Adventure to census. (I never play in the Maxis towns so I'm not bothering with them.)

By the way, isn't this in the wrong forum?

Hehe, not anymore. ;) Slim must be sleeping on the job.

Let me know if you're able to get your game fixed, Lynet. I feel your pain, I know you do not want to start all over with your families! :(

Whew! Seems to have worked. It was much easier to follow the sims2techguide.net instructions, by the way, then the Sims2.ea post. There are picture style instructions for someone like me  who's not quite confident enough to just paste 'this' over 'that.'

Also, although I had deleted the car from the Cristobal household, I suspect the household is still somewhat corrupted since when I left that family for the neighborhood screen, the game got weird and I had to exit. I went back into the game and the other families seemed OK. I think I'll leave the Cristobal faimly alone. Their baby was one hugely ugly kid, anyway :p .

So I've done a census on three of my six (NonMaxi) neighborhoods. So far, 77 little sim people (not including NPC's that I have no control over) in 27 different families. And three more neighborhoods yet to visit. I am a very sick woman :D .
