    Babies missing

For the longest time the game ran fine, and now all of a sudden I went back to my families in pleasantview (hadn't played any of them since before installing sims2Uni). Now whenever they have babies we save after we are done playing them, and we come back later and they are gone...completely gone?!?! what's going on?

Do any other changes you make or happen get saved? Such as promotoions, changes to the house, aging of the Sims etc. I think I remember something similar to this ... hmmm have a look here

Well I believe it does save everything else... yes it does because a teenager moved out and they are not there anymore. Do I have to pop everyone out of there home and put them back in it will that fix it? or what else do I have to do? Although... i like cookies said that his baby's picture was still there but he couldn't click on him, my baby's isn't there at all.

Hmm. This sounds to me as though you have picked up a hack that you don't know about and which is conflicting with a modification you have chosen.
One way to test this is to remove you My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Downloads folder and see if that fixes the trouble. Another way is to try the new download scanning tool, a third way would be to put up with it and just not save until the baby gets to be a toddler ...

what do you mean "remove"? and what will the download tool do for me and where do I get it?

Oh by the way all the stuff I have downloaded has been on our computer for a long time and we never had a problem and I have not downloaded anything new for a long time. Could it have anything to do with having too many people in the neighborhood? Because so far I have only had a problem with it in pleasantview not strangetown or veronaville.

By 'remove' I mean itg take it away from where it is and put it somewhere else. Don't put in the recycle bin becuase you might want to put it back. If that cures the problem of disappearing babies then you know that you need to find something in the download folder that was causing the problem. If it doesn't fix the problem then at least you know the problem isn't with a download.

The download manager tool was recently released by Maxis and was discussed here: http://forums.worldsims.org/showthread.php?t=5674 - or go to the official EA Games site (http://thesims2.ea.com/index.php) or if you prefer to cut directly to the chase the download is on this page (http://thesims2.ea.com/getcoolstuff/contentmanager.php) but after that you are on your own because you will need to scroll down the page and choose a flag so that you get the download in your preferred language ;)
