did u know.... did u know that when u invite the head master over to ur house that if he gets in the hottub it is 10 xtra points for ur score? but if u haven't gave him a tour yet or fed him or anything don't let him in the hot tub bcuz he will NEVER ge out he stayed n mine foever. well if every1 knew that i just found out so ya.
Yup, having fun stuff--hot tub among them--for him to indulge in raises your score. So does pleasant interaction and good environment.
I'm still trying to figure out how to get him to step off the curb... He steps out of the car, says something snide about our social standing, and immediately departs. Meanwhile the family he just diss'd has honor roll over-achiever kids, live in simmansions with lots of high simolean toys and furnishings, have six figure bank accounts, and everyone but the kids are perma-platimun know-it-all neatniks.
WereBear, I think this is caused by saving your game after you call the headmaster. You need to invite him as close to 5pm as possible. He'll show up. Do not save the game after you call him until the visit is over. Yeah, the headmaster beelines for the fun items. I usually make these items inaccessable when he's coming. Before I invite him I walk one of my sims through each room and check the environmental score. Sometimes just adding an extra ceiling light will max the room score out. You can always pause the game and move an expensive painting from room to room when he's on the tour. I remember Pescado pointing out ages ago that taking him to the little bathrooms with a big ceiling light fixture impresses him to no end. The headmaster seems to like well-lit rooms.
Perhaps you need your sims' house to look a little more expensive WereBear. Wasn't that a case in TS1? Or the social standing part makes me think perhaps the family needs more friends.
I had this problem, then I realized it was because my yard needed a little bit of weeding and attending to. My outside room score was so low that the Headmaster took one look and said "yeah right!" So try approving your outside and then he should come in and stay for a while.
This was always my theory as well. I'd always thought that when the Headmaster refused to visit the house, I had weedy-flowerbeds, mail in the box, and newspapers on the ground. JMP says that this is not true: he says it is a myth and that the actual reason the Headmaster refuses to visit is that you have saved your game (or gone to a community lot or downtown, which also saves your game) before 5:00, activating a bug in the system. I'll admit that JMP is the master and that his theory is more likely. However, I have not ever had the Headmaster refuse to visit once I started cleaning up my yard.
I had invited the headmaster at 3pm once and did not save, and when he showed up at 5 is when he decided that our house wasn't good enough. So I cleaned up the yard and the next day when he came he stayed. There might be a bug, but I think the yard has something to do with it too.
