Lonewolf, are you asking about installing University? Or are you talking about downloading custom content for University? Please be more specific.

Installing The Game. It installs up to 66% and then says, Problem with transfer E.\TSBIn\sims 2 ep1.exe from media and then I have to quit the installation.

You could try copying all of the files to your hard drive and running the install that way. If it still doesn't work it's corrupted and you'll need to take it back to where you bought it and change it over.

I know that the site is a pain sometimes, but I've seen an explanation for this one over on the official site. I'm afraid though that I don't recall the reason for it, although I believe it had to do with a corrupted or replaced .exe file.

However, if you had any global files installed in your game, then you should remove your TS2 file from EA GAMES and put it on the desktop, *then* reinstall the game and then try the University install. Doing it on a fresh install removes all the globals and things that can interfere with the download (such as just having a corrupted TS2.exe file). It's amazing how much that can help.

It is also a good idea when installing new software to make sure and turn off any Terminate-Stay-Resident (TSR) programs like virus checkers or firewalls that may be running.

    Excellent point!

My list was by no means complete. (I think my laryngitis is robbing me of brain power too!)

I am having the same problem, except I get to 69% then get that error message. I found this way to copy the CDs to different folders before installing and that would fix it but it still says it can't load that same file. I am pretty much guessing the entire problem is the fact that the one file wont transfer. This was a birthday present for my little sister and I really need to get it working soon.
