    help - move me in

i need - some help - ive got 2 adult sims each with a house and job of their own - they have been dating for ages and have full relationships both daily and lifetime - the game wont give me the option to move in or propose - ive tried everything and nothing works - when they dine out on nightlife there are no options available while dining - normally you get pics of a chair next to what can be done while dining?ive had the option to propose to stay the night quite a few times and done it - but still no engagment or move in option - any ideas???????

Are they best friends? Sounds like you have nightlife, so are their 'sparks' between them? Are they both in good moods, happy on all fronts, in the green? As a last desperate measure you could physically move one out of his/her house and then combine households. Not very satisfying, I know. Maybe you should just play them a little longer. They might come around to the idea  of moving in together.

Try Ask/Do you like what you see? If they don't, it's no dice, but it also "jump starts" the lightning bolts if they do. I use it all the time.

Also try "scope room" and see if they find each other "hot." But try to do it when no other likely prospects are around, if you want to test just for them.

Oh, and are they in crush/love? You need to do some flirting and kissing and then see if they want to propose to one another.

Some sims are easier than others. Sounds like you have two who are playing hard to get.

Or, they're just not into each other.

    thanx - but still stuck

they have 3 lightning bolts with each other
when they go out there is no scope option or ask option??
they are in love and in the green with mood etc

do you think it could be something wrong with the game - ive downloaded loads of custom stuff - im gonna try it with two different sims to see if its them or the whole game!!

does anyone know where to get a custon content checker like thesims1 filecop??

if anyone has any other ideas for my lonely sims then please tell me!!

One way to test is to move all your downloads to a temporary folder on a different part of your hard drive, and then load the game.

Or, just agree to disable the custom content if you get the warning screen before you start your game.

Then play your sims and see what happens. I've noticed some funky stuff since I downloaded some stuff, so I've decided to stick to clothing and genetics and leave the custom furniture and cars alone. I think that's when my game started acting funny and slowing down.

    Anyway, worth a try.

thanx - i will try disableing custom content
one more question tho (sorry to be a pain)
when the disable/enable custom content screen comes up it lists loads of stuff - is that a list of just stuff with possible problems or is it all custom content?
coz i could write down the file names and delete them??

The screen shows just the problem content, not all of it. Clothes, for example, don't usually show up there. Yes, you could delete the files if the screen bugs you, but if you just choose disable that should get rid of the problem.

I'm going to do the same thing, tonight. Until I get more RAM and a new vid card I don't think my computer can handle all this custom stuff along with the game, which is a space hog.

And I'd rather have speed than a giant inflatable cat. :D

Good luck and let me know how it goes.

    thanx

i tried geting my sim to date someone else and the options were there so i think its just something wrong with my female sim - maybe just a freak error or maybe some custom content i made her with
im now making a new female without any custom content

im still not getting the scope room option or ask option with any of my sims
is there a particular circumstance needed for these options to be available (i havent had nightlife long so im still getting used to the new options!)

    thanx for your help:D

I have had more than a few right odd situations since I got nightlife. Much of the trouble is undoubtedly due to faulty downloaded material though some problems do appear to be quirks of the way the game works ... as well as a few bugs. For example I lost the call transport option at a greek house while two sims were attending a final exam. This was a darn nuisance cos I thought I'd broken the lot and was mighty miffed. I had a whole bunch of visitors assembled for an outing at the local bowlerama and not only couldn't any of them summon a taxi but even the car was aonly good for a joy-ride. I am mostly utterly stumped when I find that my one of my sims can't scope a room or whatever. BTW Is it just my little sims or did the maxoids make conception less likely. Before NL "try for a baby" produced a lullaby success 9 times out of 10, since NL it's more like 1 out of 10 ... and now I'm thinking of that bandy-legged animation again ... who started that? !!!

What bandy-legged animation? Do you mean when a female romance sim is feeling really hot? I thought she had turned into a duck. :D I prefer the male swagger. That's at least cute.

I've had no trouble conceiving the two times I've tried so far, but maybe that's not a good sampling. One girl, one boy, and one adopted girl. My daughter's sims had twins, first try.

Are you thinking of WereBear's comment about woohooing in the car? Sitting at my desk today when I read that thread I suddenly burst out laughing, forgetting I was at work. Oopsy.
