Now That's Child Support! Background: I created a sim named Richard Head who ended up marrying a grand-vamp (Contessa Demi) and who accidentally became a grand-vamp by being bitten and cured 3 times (at least his avitar did) Along the way to turning Pleasantview into "Salem's Lot" , he had a romp with Cherry Straight (one of my favorite perpetual Uni NPC students). I've been dying to make her playable for ages (just to give her a new hairstyle ) so I had Richard move her in and after a successful "try for baby" attempt (in the car while the Contessa was painting a masterpiece in the house) I had her move out and set up housekeeping downtown. Being a romance sim, she decided that being a single parent was too much of a burden and that little Peach would be better off living with her father and step-mother. The only way I could think of to accomplish this was for her invite Richard to move in, then move him back home with baby Peach in tow. Please direct your attention to the "move-in" dialog at the top right corner of the attached picture. What surprised me is that Richard and Contessa Demi's household worth was a mere (sic) $90,000 simoleons before he came over to pick up the baby...
I've been having a money glitch like that since I installed Nightlife. Needless to say I have several families with mucho dinero...
6,981,601 simoleons to be exact. I'm sure that Cherry would love a roommate Kristal, seeing as how the first thing she did was buy a big new house. But she's a romance sim with a LTW of Woohoo with 20 different sims and she..ahem..doesn't discriminate. Are you sure you would take a chance? She can be a little aggressive. One sim's glitch is another sim's lottery! I think NL changed it so the move-in amount is totally random now. I've also had a sim move in with an old college buddy bringing a whopping 64 simoleons to add to the family nest egg!
ROTFLAMO!!!!! Now, me moving in with a non-discriminating romance sim. . . hummmmm. How the neighbors would talk!
I just saw a fix for this somewhere. . . hummm, I can't remember, Similogical, maybe? Or VariousSimmers?? I can't remember, because at 1st I thought, "Oh, I need to show this thread to Were Bear!" and then I thought, "Why would anyone want to get rid of this bug?" LOL
Did she actually put the crib out in the yard? I think she made the right decision giving the baby up, even if daddy is a vamp.
Cherry has less maternal instinct than Brandi Broke. She even called the nanny and went to work 1 hour after Peach was born! I mean, she had a promotion comming and all.. Actually there wasn't room in her little starter house for the crib, and I was afraid the welfare lady would show up if I just left her on the ground.
Actually, a baby can be left saftely on the floor without the Worker showing up to take the baby. In fact at Mermaid's Cove, Hairfish created floor-tiles that resemble baby blankets. I just wish that if a sim was going to put the infant in the floor, they would flip it over onto it's stomach for "Tummy Time." Real-life babies do need time playing in the floor on their bellies for exercise and development. The Sims babies should even develop body and/or logic points for tummy time. Or, someone could create a "Baby-Gym", you know, one of those things that sit on the floor over a baby with toys hanging down that lights up or plays music?
Sim family, Kristal. I'm telling you, we need it! I wrote down all sorts of ideas for interactions that you can't currently do with a baby in a different thread. I'd like it if the parents could multi-task while holding the simfant: talk on the phone, chat with neighbors, make dinner. Hey, real parents do it, why not sims? Sit down while holding a baby? How revolutionary! I also think board games, art supplies for kids, sidewalk chalk, hopscotch, wading pools and tricycles wouldn't be that hard to do and would make the game more entertaining. How about baby dolls and baseball? The teddy bear needs more interactability. How about having a random thing where a kid doesn't like to put it down? I think it would be cute to have a child who always had her teddy with her. I know mine did!
A rocking chair. I'd love to have a parent sit with a baby or toddler in a rocking chair and sing a lullaby before putting them in the crib.
OK, this is freaky. Maybe I've just never had this personality type before, but my two Pisces children in the Nova family are constantly holding their bear! It's soooo cute. Ask and you shall receive.
So does this "Glitch" happen in nightlife like ALL THE TIME every single time? and it happens with "Everyone" that has the expansion If thats true well i dont know i want to get NL hopefully it only happens sometimes because i only like playing normaly without getting mass amounts of cash for instants the cheat "Motherlode" 50,000 simoliens Ive only used it once when i was like desperate.
I have nightlife and the mass amounts of money added when someone is moving in has not yet happened to me. So it's very random and doesn't happen to often. Don't let that deter you from getting nightlife.
I second that. If anything, my sims are poorer now. Earning $100,000 has become a real challenge, what with all the distractions and dates and all. Who has time to work? I have yet to have a sim start with more than $20,000, and when Tyson Andrews moved in with his new bride he had a whopping $600. But, on the plus side, he did have a nice TV and a fishtank.
"a whooping $600." umm,not meaning to be mean or anything but were you being silly because my sim makes more then "$600" a day no offence but do "you" think $600 is alot on TS2...well it can get you a cheap tv
Not to speak on SBW's behalf, but I'm more than positive she was being sarcastic with the "whooping $600.00" comment. Also, when she mentioned that he brought with him a TV and a fish tank, I'm assuming that was in his inventory, which is an awesome feature of Nightlife. Your sims all have a personal inventory in which they get to carry around their possessions. That way when you move you can keep some of the stuff you bought or earned with your aspiration points.
