Sloppy Sims Hey Everyone. I am new to this forum and have been playing Sims 2 for about three months. I have learned a lot from this forum and/or by playing the game on a frequent basis. I had started the game with one couple, Jack and Linda Christianson. This couple got married and had four kids. One child (2nd child) grew up very sloppy and only has one point there in his personality table. He is now married and has three children. They all turned out super sloppy and his wife (originally Brandie Broke) is not much better. It is very hard to keep the house clean with all these messy sims. Along with all the farting and burping going on in the house, I even found out that they will pee in the shower when I am trying to clean them up!!! LOL I could not believe my eyes when I caught one of my sims doing that!! Is there any way on improving their personality so that they are a little cleaner? Everything seems to get dirty much faster then my cleaner families, especially the shower. Also, they keep yelling, throwing their arms around and basically throwing a temper tantrum when I try to get them to clean something.
I always hire a maid as soon as possible. I love the sloppy sims. Their antics are so entertaining. I had one who slipped and fell down on the bathroom floor when she spun around to get dressed after a shower because she'd gotten water all over the floor. Gave me a good laugh and some days I need that. As for neatness, I had a sim who was so nutty about cleaning I could always find him pruning the hedges or scrubbing toilets if I left him alone for a moment. After he died his ghost went around the house washing dishes and cleaning the bathrooms, too busy to jump out of dark corners and scare the kids. All the maid had to do the next day was make the beds.
There are many mods you can use to give them more neat points, such as Merola's painting. But, why? I love sloppy sims, too. My Charlene Hicks sim would wallow in her own filth if I didn't force her to clean up once in a while. And then she complains and moans like I'm killing her! LOL
I have a couple of ideas, in case you don't enjoy the sloppy antics: You could create a neat freak sim and then invite them to move in with your sims. If you have Uni you can just plop 'em in, but you should be able to make them a friend and then invite them to move in with the base game as well. Or you could try "encourage neatness," but that will only work if the sim doing the encouraging is neat. Maybe Brandi has enough neat points for that to work? And yes, hire a maid and then tip him/her $100 a couple of times. That should help keep the house much tidier.
I always try to use sloppy sims to my advantage. They are great for getting to work in the morning. It's a great time saver to go straight from the breakfast table to the shower without having to hit the toilet first. Sloppy sims are great for making beds also. While neat sims seem to take a sim hour making hospital corners and smoothing out the blankets *just right*, the slobs just throw the blanket over the pillows and move on! With a large family, the slob can skip breakfast all together without sacrificing hunger thanks to the "lick plates clean" command. And a single slob living alone will never starve because they will forage out of the garbage can! But if you don't like that sort of thing and have the University EP, you can change a slob into a neatnick. Have a sim get a job in the Paranormal career field until they earn the Resurrect-O-Nomitron. Then (after making sure someone on that lot loves him enough to call Grimmy for him) kill the slob, and resurect him...but only spend between §4128 to §8512. This will bring them back normal, except it will reverse all their personality points. Viola! Slobs are now neatnicks, and obnoxious sims wear swimsuites (etc.).
I never had it happen, either, Mae, until I played the Curious brothers. One of them does it all the time. I can't remember which one: I think it's the cute one (Laslo?). BTW, Vidcund Curious is actually OK looking if you give him the blonde ponytail and ditch the glasses. Not cute, but OK looking. And Pascal looks better if his hair stands up rather than hanging down. I can't help it. I like to do makeovers.
