Sim won't cook I've got a sim who maxed the cooking skill while he was a teen, but since then he hasn't been able to cook. I've changed fridges, and its all well stocked. The only options i get is 'snack' and 'check supplies'. Other family members have no problems. What's up with that?
Mmmm, aren't those the options when a sim is a child? Did you use any hack to age him or something? That's very peculiar. Not trying to be funny but does the option to bake come up when using the child stove?
No, he aged normally. His twin can cook and he didn't max out the cooking skill. And no, baking doesn't come up.
Hummm. Did you try clicking on the stove? That should also bring up the cooking menu. Also, try the gril?? Maybe if he can't cook inside, he can cook outside?
I had that problem when I maxed a skill (using a hack) and then added points across the board... when I backed off his totals, the sim was then able to cook again. but if you aren't using hacks then this is probably of no help.
Just as an experiment, you might try deleting the stove and buying him a new one. Just in case there's a weird sim/stove interaction going on. Or, have him move to an entirely new lot. Sometimes that fixes problems my sims are having. Though this one is new to me.
If none of that works (and before moving him out) get Merola's multipainting from simchaotics.com and use it to remove a few of his cooking points and see if that works. If it does then you can always use the painting to put back the right number of cooking points by using its maximise function. You can easily remove the hacked painting aftewards if you prefer not to have such a thing in your game but it may well fix your problem.
