Questions about babies Do the babies in the game (even ones from different couples) tend to look alike? I have only 2 BIG (Born In Game) babies. However, the seem to look alike. The 2nd one is still a baby but he looks the same as when the 1st one was a baby. I am hoping he doesn't grow up to look the same. They are from different parents and the parents are not related or look alike, other then their skin color.
I think all babies tend to look the same except for hair and eye color. Those differ among babies depending on the genetics of their parents. I don't think facial shape and structure become apparent until the child becomes a toddler.
All newborns look alike except for their eye color, skin color, and eyebrows. They start looking like their parents when they transition to toddler. (sort-of off topic gripe I had a sim who was so freakin' ugly he scared me. But, I liked his personality. He is a wealth sim, he's clean, he's hardworking, and he is nice. So, I thought I would fix him up a little and let him breed. I used the plastic surgery machine. I fixed him up with that pretty downtownie named Cara, the little blonde with the hat that wears the corset and jeans? Anyway, they had twins Monday night, Hunter and Helena. They transitioned to toddlers, and look just like their Daddy before his plastic surgery!!! Ugghhh!!! I remember that we had wondered if the plastic surgery machine would change DNA, and now I have definitive proof that it does not.
Yes, I have heard that it doesn't, just like in real life. And just like changing hair color doesn't change that gene, either. But ugly and nice is better than pretty and rotten, right?
Well, at least the family has the surgery machine. You can give them facelifts later! I married that same townie to Hal Capp. (She's La Shawn in my game.) She's a cutie. They haven't had kids yet but I hope they take after her!
Both of the babies are bald, have the same skin color, eye color and eyebrow color. They are both boys. I will wait and see if he winds up looking exactly like the other one. I wouldn't mind because the 1st baby grew up into a cute child but it would be weird to have 2 boys from different parents that look exactly the same. I have that girl in my game too. What is up with her? It seems like all of the guys like her. I see them talking about her with hearts fluttering around.
In my game she's Yvette. Spike certainly digs her, and now Ashley's dating her too ... oopsie. She does seem to be everyone's favorite hottie.
Well, though they might have the same eye color and hair color, their faces will probably turn out different. Yeah, I have a problem with the generic baby-face. I like variety!

My Sim was a wealth sim who loved working and making money, and I was hording it back for a speical occasion. But he just seemed lonely, and was shy, so I thought I'd buy him a good blind date, and she appeared. He was instantly head over heels. It took her some getting used to. LOL But in my game Cara is also a wealth sim and seems to compliment Billy Jack very well. I have made some sims very ugly on purpose because I like having variety in my game. What bothers me is that the newborns just look so generic, and so cute, and then transition into, well, a face only a mother could love. LOL
I had some kinda ugly sim babies in my previous town, and I didn't mind it. They had nice personalities, and they kind of felt like "mine" if that isn't too weird ... bet you know what I mean, Kristal. Of course the one kid who was really ugly also had an ugly personality. I thought of him as ape-boy. I was planning to have him use the plastic surgery machine once he grew up so he could be a toad in disguise. What I learned was, don't marry Sheldon Handby if you want cute kids. If you do want cute kids, have a non-ugly sim marry Castor Nova, from the frat at Sim State. My Nova family children are adorable at all stages of life. (Their mom is cute too, which helps. Her dad is Tyson Andrews, whom I've also seen called Avri and Amari ... her mom is a CAS sim.)
Oh, Avri, I've seen him. I better make sure to hook him up with one of my sims. One of my new Nightlife experimental sims, Kina Ailani, recently got engaged with River Graham, a guy with the best-looking default face and the darkest skin tone. He also has brown hair in Komei's style. I was like, "Wow, he looks good! Better use him!" I actually don't like that all of the downtownies have different names in different games because it's harder to say who our sims have married and such.
I had the same thought, 123! It makes conversation harder. I think your River Graham is my Tyson Andrews. At least you just described him. He's got the same haircut as Komei. Does Avri? Check the pictures in my thread. Does River wear a red shirt? My River has a different last name and is blonde with a headscarf. I've always found him kind of intriguing and cute and am hoping to marry someone off to him, someday ...
Oh, I think I know who you guys are talking about, with the red shirt and kind of longish hair? He's Holden Knight in my game. The girl townie we were talking about above (La Shawn, Yvette, Cara, plus whatever other names she has) and Holden are sworn enemies in my game. The first time I ever went downtown, those two got into a fight, and they've hated each other ever since. La Shawn just married Hal Capp, so I got to see her relationships, and she is still furious with Holden after all this time. As soon as La Shawn moved in with Hal, Holden was there mere minutes later to knock over the trashcan. He is very good looking, I'll have to marry him to someone also.
Yep. He's even cute as an elder. It helps that he has 10 body points, so he (mostly) kept his physique. He's a keeper.
Oh, sorry. I worked him up to that. But he does start with something like 6, at least in my game. He was quite the skillmeister, I seem to recall. He's almost maxxed out on most of them now. On the minus side, he had almost no money. But he did have a nice TV and a fishtank. Did that fight happen spontaneously? I had two sims try to kill each other while my player sim was visiting a community lot. They were really going at it. Now they think flamey thoughts about each other all the time ...
In my game his name is Avri Lanchild. He wears a red&white sweater shirt and blue jeans with white sneakers. I didn't like his look at first with the long hair but after a while he began to grow on me. I noticed he was never in fights or argueing with other sims. Then I found out he was a lieutenant with $$. I had one of my sims dating him and Joe Carr but I couldn't decided on who to marry her off to. The clincher was when after their second dream date Avri left a hot tub as a gift, yet Joe kept bringing roses. How could you not marry a guy that buys you a hot tub!
Yep, it happened spontaneously. My very first outing downtown, my little 2-couple elder group was minding their own business at the bowling alley when there was a big hubbub on the dance floor and the 2 townies were beating each other up. It turned out to be a rockin outing though!
Yes, funny how a well-timed fight can boost an outing's score ... I think Tyson/Avri looks like a fashion model. There aren't too many really cute guys in the game. Castor Nova is another one, and a guy called Blake Cho (he's blonde, with the stupid floppy haircut, but has quite the chiseled features). Ashley Pitts is OK looking too, especially with a beard, IMHO. And the blonde dormie with the headscarf, who is River Goldstein in my game. Oh, and this NL downtownie called David Benson is very hubba-hubba. He's a dark-skinned dude who wears a gray sweater and slacks, very clean cut. I think his initials are usually D.B., from what I've gathered anyway. I'm sure there are others, but there are plenty of weird looking ones too. I know I'm being shallow. But they are sims, after all ... and I know I'm not the only one who likes cute babies. Not that I don't have a fondness for not-so pretty sims as well. I adore Orlando Centowski, who just married one of my sims. He's not exactly handsome, but he is very sweet. And there's a coffee shop guy who resembles Komei Tellerman, only blonde, who is Warren Byall in my game. He seems very nice, but he is definitely not cute. I may try to get to know him better sometime ...
