I might have to give away my hamster! My brother is doing this program to cure his eczema. He gets a shot every few months for like a year or more, and for a few days before and after it he can't eat or smell anything that he's even remotely allergic to. So my hamster, Pooky, has the dander in his fur that's like floating around my room, and it'll probably do something bad. So I've already dropped him in his cage off at my sister's friend, Tina's, house, to stay for a week, and then I can take him back. But then my mom just said that we can't keep giving him to Tina to take care of whenever my brother takes the shot, so why don't I just give Pooky away to like an adoption center?! Agghh!! This is terrible! I don't want to give away my hamster! I've had him for more than a year!
Wow. That really sucks. I had two guines pigs (they died ), so I know I would hate to have to have given them away. I hope yourMom will let you keep having your friend babysit Pooky.
Send the hamster to me I will take care of it AND make it un killable I have had my hamster for 7 YEARS all becuase me and my brother decided to make him a war hampster ( dont ask ) No he can drop 10 feet get up and walk away ... If you ever want it back when you get it a cat could eat it and it would be back in its age in a day or 2 cat might be dead though . ( Im joking with the bottom part ) ...
Well, you have three options; - Give your hamster to a friend to look after ( Not a evil friend or s/he will put your hamster in a microwave. Very easy mistake to make too! ) - Pretend you dont have your hamster and gave it away to a hungry Hobo ( Just to make them feel guilty for the hamster ) - Kill your brother ( A few problems such as it is evil and the police would have a few suggestions to say about this ) Post back your option Edit: SEVEN YEARS?! Thats impossable! The normal range is three- four years!
What the heck kind of treatment do they have your poor brother on??? I have ecxema. I have always been told that there's not a cure, and that I would probably outgrow it (but didn't), or here, use this nice cream.
It's a new thing called LDA. Every few months they give you a small injection of what you're allergic to, and you can't eat anything you're allergic to, or smell anything too strong, for like a week before the shot and a week after. It takes 3-4 years to finish. I don't know how it works, but most of the people who did it said that it worked great, bla bla bla. It's definitely not as easy as it sounds, because all my brother can eat are potatoes, carrots, sweet potatoes, rabbit, lamb, and a few other stuff that he definitely wouldn't like. And I'm not allowed to wash my hair until Thanksgiving because of the smell of the shampoo!
OK, that would drive me batty. But maybe you can get your hamster back after that if you do your chores, promise to clean its cage more often, etc. I could never give away my daughter's pet.
It's really unfair that I bought him, I bought his cage, I bought his cage stuff, I buy his food, I take care of him all by myself, and now I might have to give him away! Though it's a big MIGHT. There's probably a 65% chance that I will keep him, and a 35% chance that I have to give him away, but any chance at all that I might have to give Pooky away distresses me.
