Okay, I've got some pictures, but I only just remembered to make the pictures High quality, so all of these are crappy. Argh, why aren't the pictures uploading?! I've been waiting for them to be uploaded for like half an hour (though I did other things while I waited) and nothing has happened!
Have you uploaded pictures before, successfully? I agree half an hour is too long to wait. I have dialup and it only takes a minute or two. Are they in the right format? Are they small enough (bite-size wise)? If so, the site could just be being stubborn. I'd try again later.
River does seem like a good catch. Poor guy though, probably elated that she's pregnant and willing to marry him; however, upset because she'd be doing it because of the baby, not because she'd really wanted to.
Actually River is a fortune sim. I'm actually not too fond of them as all they like to do is buy expensive things. Yes, I did upload pictures before, like a few months ago. I'm not sure what size they were...they might've been too big...but they were in JPG (or JPEG, are they all that different?) format...I think. Like I've said several times before, I'm definitely not a tech kind of person.
When they got home, Kina immediately took Rivers hand and led him over to the sofa. Lets get this over with. Im tired of you giving me the cold shoulder! I thought that wed patched things up the other day! River looked away. Answer me! Soon Ill be starting to get mood swings, and you do not want a pregnant lady mad at you! He sighed. Alright. Im just feeling rejected. I stuck my neck out, and I got it chopped off. I didnt say I wouldnt marry you! I only said That youre not ready. Im tired of hearing that! Its either you want to marry me or you dont! Kina bit her lip. Shed been saying that she loved himbut did she really? Was she really ready for this? And what about her unborn baby? She wouldnt dare get an abortionbut could she care for it? Maybe marrying someone like River would be good for her Hed certainly calm down her wild streak. And he was good at managing money, of that she was sure. But River stared at her with growing uncertainty. When she hadnt answered after a good five minutes, he sighed. You dont want to. Kina immediately looked up. No, its not like that! You know, you were right. You just care about yourself. He stood up and went outside, starting the car and pulling out of the driveway. Kina stared after him, hurt. Wow, this thing is going along at a snail's pace. I hate school.
River dejectedly walked out of his door, stooping over to get his newspaper. Instead of a bundle of gray paper, however, he found a large bouquet of large red roses with a note attached to them: River, I’ve always admired you from afar. I hope you’ll accept these roses from me, And maybe one day we can meet. Your Secret Admirer He shook his head and went back inside, discarding the bouquet onto the end table next to the door. But he continued to receive little notes and trinkets from the secret admirer: pink, scented envelopes in his mailbox, several different types of flowers like carnations and lilies, and little cards stuck in his windshield-wipers. Finally, after another week and a half of finding useless notes and cards all over his house, he found a plain white piece of paper in his mailbox. Written in a rather untidy scrawl was: River, I feel like this whole week has been a time bomb, Leading up to this one moment... Will you meet me at The Hub tonight at 7:00? Your Secret Admirer River gaped at the note. A date? A blind date? With a crazy obsessed stalker? …Somehow, he found himself more excited than he’d been in a long time.
Kina shifted nervously on her feet, smoothing the folds in the indigo-colored evening gown shed chosen for the night. She checked her hair, making sure not a strand was out of place, and ran a tissue around the edges of her mouth, wiping away extra lipstick. This was it. River checked his bow-tie, feeling butterflies in his stomach. He slapped himself mentally. Whats wrong with you? This girl is the one who likes you! You shouldnt be so worried! But in the pit of his stomach he knew that something was special about this secret admirer. He brushed his hair back into a smooth coif and grinned at the reflection in his mirror. If I do say so myself, I look positively dashing. He confidently got into his car and drove to the formal restaurant. However, as soon as he went inside the building, all of his confidence melted away. Kina turned around and smiled hesitantly when she saw Rivers face. He looks HOT! He was wearing a slick black tuxedo with a small carnation tucked into his breast pocket, and it looked like he had smoothed his hair back with gel. Rivers breath caught in his throat. Shes beautiful Kina was wearing a sleeveless, dark blue dress with several layers of glitter-strewn gauze, and a two-foot long train. On her hands were elbow-length black satin gloves, and pearls shined from her neck and ears. Her hair was piled atop her head in curls and ringlets, and what appeared to be a chain of diamonds and sapphires was draped artistically over it. She smiled at him breathtakingly, and he felt his insides dissolve into a puddle of goop that yelled, Kiss her! Go over there and forgive her for everything! He shook himself and walked over to her, offering a bouquet of pink roses solemnly, trying to think of a somewhat witty thing to say. Secret admirer, huh? She blushed prettily, and River felt his insides melting all over again. It was the only thing I could think of Well, anyway, will you at least listen to me? Her hand strayed subconsciously to her stomach, and his eyes were drawn to its slight bulge. She cleared her throat nervously when she saw where his gaze was directed. Yeah, Im beginning to show. River nodded and followed her to a table in the corner of the restaurant, pulling at his collar anxiously. He sat down and eyed her a little reproachfully. I cant believe you tricked me into coming here. Kina sighed. Im sorry, okay? I just wanted to talk to you. He rolled his eyes. Thats not an excuse for lying, Kina. So, tell mewhat did you want to talk about? Kina shook her head, motioning to the waiter who was approaching the small table. What would you like, mademoiselle? Kina hummed nervously, browsing quickly through the menu. I think Ill go with the angel hair potatoes and a glass of red wine. Ill have the River glanced at the last page of the menu and continued, The chicken alfredo, please, and red wine, too. The waiter nodded and recorded their orders onto a small notepad. I will be back with your orders in a few minutes. River waited until he had left before leaning in again, his eyebrows raised and his nostrils flaring. Tell me. Kina bit her lip nervously. I love you. River snorted. And youre not ready to get married, right? No! I do want to get married! Notice that I still have my ring on! She waved her hand impatiently in front of Rivers face, displaying the sparkling gold ring on her finger. Ive been thinking about this ever since you walked out on me! I do want to get married now! He stared at her for a few moments, and Kina felt beads of sweat drip down her forehead. Was he going to reject her? The waiter arrived with their food, and she felt the tension disperse, thankfully. As she began eating her meal, she glanced up at him occasionally. He seemed to be completely absorbed in the way his wine swished around in his glass. He barely ate his pasta and mostly drank the wine. Kina cleared her throat nervously. So River looked at her, his eyes clouded with something she couldnt place. So you finally want to marry me, huh? Yes! Yes, I do! She said desperately, beginning to feel a little relieved that he was starting to believe her. Then show me. Eh? Show me how much you love me. Kina leaned in and gently touched his lips with hers, a butterfly of a kiss. I love you. He seemed to consider for a moment before standing up and offering his hand, helping her out of her chair. Would you like to dance? Kina was even more confused than before. UmI dont know. No one else is dancing River shook his head, showing that he didnt care. He took her gloved hand and led her out into an open space. Kina blushed, noticing the other people in the restaurants eyes on them. Riverdoes this meanthat you forgive me? He only kissed her, his lips lingering on hers for a long time. They swayed to the soft classical music playing in the restaurant, and Kina couldnt help but sigh in contentment. She glanced at him a little nervously to see his reaction, but he continued to stare at her. Um.is there something wrong? He smiled, the first time this evening, and said, No. Everythings perfect. She smiled as well, and they danced.
8:30 PM Mood: Elated Dear Blog, Well, its been a few months, and River and I got married. Yes, I was showing a lot by then, but we did it anyway. We decided not to hold it off any longer so I wouldnt have the baby too soon. Im actually a little excited, though thats no surprise as Ive had seven months to get used to it. Rivers been promoted a few times towell, though Im actually a little ashamed of it, hes been promoted to cat burglar. Wow, right? At least hes raking in the simoleons. And Abhijeet is really taking the break-up badly. Hes begun stealing our newspapers, and I think he even kicked over our trashcan last night! What a sore loser. 5:24 PM Mood: Tired Dear Blog, Well, I just had a six-hour labor, and I am bushed! I have a son! A sweet little boy named Jacob. He looks just like Rivera little too much like River. And I wouldve liked a daughter. Ah well, it cant be helped. River is absolutely beside himself, fawning all over little Jake. I wouldve liked to spoil him, too, if it werent for our low budget. Oh gosh, that reminds me, we need to hire a nannyIll be at work Monday through Friday
Congratulations on the new addition to your family. I'm still not convinced that Kina was/is ready for marriage/settling down. I'm hoping things work out. I'm anxious to see how things play out.
Your people seem very real, Person. Very flesh and blood. I'm with DuzzyGirl on Kina. She's seems a little distant, not truly committed, but when you have a baby, of course, there are bigger responsibilities and you may have to set aside your own dreams for awhile.
Eek, I had to go back 3 pages! And I decided not to put the time anymore as it's not important. Mood: Proud Dear Blog, My new babys name is Louis! What a cutie. I have to admit that I wouldve preferred a girl, but, ah well, it cant be helped. Jake is also growing up fast. Hes started middle school, and Im starting to feel old, though I only just turned 30. But Im also getting a little worried about Rivers job. Hes starting to associate with these really hard-core criminals. I mean, nothing REALLY bad, they only steal from houses, noharassment. But I think we need to talkagain. I dont want him to get arrested or anything! How would I support myself? RiverI think we need to talk about your job. River sighed and turned away, waving his hand irritably in Kinas direction. Weve already talked about this, and Ive decided this is the best way to earn money. Kina gaped at him. Are you kidding? Being a criminal is the best way? What about being a doctor, huh? Or even owning your own business? River groaned. This is what I want to do! Why cant you just accept that? Because its not right! There are plenty of other, more acceptable ways to support this family. You know what, I dont want to talk about this anymore. River stood up and left the house, slamming the front door behind him and waking Louis.
Stupid men. He's trying to earn money from a job that doesn't pay! (Geddit? Crime doesn't pay!) Edit: Omg, that was terrible. Sorry.
River stared morosely into his shot glass, watching the liquid swirl around as he tipped it to and fro. He gulped it down and asked the bartender for another one. Hello there, handsome. A deep, smooth-as-syrup voice jarred him out of his reverie and he looked to his side, slightly confused. The owner of the voice was a Middle-Eastern woman with malt-colored skin and golden-brown eyes; her shiny black hair was cut into an Egyptian-esque bob that framed her heart-shaped face. Normally he tried to avoid women with bright-red lipstick and other extravagant makeup, but this lady seemed to wear it well, and he was strangely drawn to her. His gaze dropped to her outfit, a tight leather club dress and thigh-high boots with heels that could stake a vampire. (Hehe. Had to put that in.) Im sorry, Im married. He said in a strained, tightly-controlled voice, trying not to stare at her well-endowed chest. I know. She scooted forward on the barstool, resting her long fingers on Rivers arm. Whats wrong? You seemdown. River opened his mouth to answer her, but stopped, feeling confused. Why was he even talking to this woman? Yes, he had come to get drunk and forget about Kina and how true her words were, but he didnt want to cheat at all! Yetthis woman seemed so caring, so understanding. He found himself spilling out his troubles, not being able to stop. --And I just dont understand why shes so worked up about it! Ive been trained at this, I wont get caught! I justI just dont understand why she wont accept my choices. The woman smiled. You should be able to do whatever you want. She ran her hands soothingly up and down his arm, her face leaning in closer to him. River stared at her, mesmerized for several minutes, but started, pushing her away. He expected her to look surprised and maybe hurt, but she only scooted closer. You know, taken men are even more fun. She whispered in his ear, before pulling away slowly. Another drink for both of us! She called to the bartender, and continued talking to him in her alluring, smooth voice. So, whats your name? River Graham. My name is Kali Patil. Im from out of town, but Im here for a few weeks. The bartender came and gave them their two drinks. Kali watched River gulp his down and ask the bartender for another, his voice beginning to slur. Really? Here for a friend? His control began to slip away and he let her scoot closer to him. Yes, Im got called from Kina a few days ago so I decided to drop in. Ill probably be visiting her sooner or later. River stared at her. Kinashe sounded familiar. He racked his brain and grabbed the next shot glass, and as he did so he saw his wedding ring. Kina! His wife! She knew Kali! Kina is my wife, Kali. My wife. Kali only smiled. I kind of figured that out when you said your name was River Graham. Dont worry; I wont tell her anything. Rivers vision began to blurwhere was he again? Who was that woman talking to him? Was it his love, Kina? He saw black hair--it must be her. She leaned in to kiss him, and he wrapped his arms around her. Kina sure was a good kisser The next morning River woke up with a furious hangover. What thewhere was he? The room didnt look like the bedroom he shared with Kina. What had happened last night? He vaguely remembered getting in a fight with herabout what? His job, yes, that was it! And then he went to a barandwhat happened next? He stared in confusion at the naked, dark-skinned woman next to him. Wait a secondwhy was he in a bed with another woman?! Why were they both naked?! Hehe...that was a little fun to write.
