Some Custom Content Not Appearing In Game

I have recently downloaded a lot of hair styles, makeup, and clothing. However, they do not appear in the game. I know custom content is not disabled because I have no problem with my downloaded objects. I have upzipped the files, and I have downloaded the meshes, so those are not causing this, and they are in the correct folder, and not in any sub-folders. It be greatly appreciated if someone could please help me out here.
    Thank you in advance.
BTW, no EPs, InSIMenator, SimPE, several hacks, none that affect custom content, if that info will help. ;)

I also have Sims2Pack Clean Installer, if that helps.
I have also noticed that .rar files aren't appearing, either.

If some of your downloads work and others don't, the most common reason is that the non-working downloads have a mesh that you don't have. They aren't usually downloaded at the same time as the download itself (unless it is a combined download which states that it has both.)

Your best bet is to go back to the zip file and see if it has a "read me" file which tell you which mesh you need (although some "readme's" only tell you who made it and don't upload/download it to somewhere else), or if that isn't available then go back to the site where you found the download and check there for which mesh you need.

    suitemichelle Gramma's here!

also some hair do's are designed for specific ep's, and if you don't have that ep then they don't show up.

Aparently some of the files contained .rar, and they weren't extracted.
Now, most of them show up.

That's a good point! (I had pretty much assumed that the person had all the EPs.)

Ah, yes. RAR files. So you did find a RAR extractor to take care of those. (So not all the files were "unzipped.")

Edit: another thing that I just remembered (because a new version just came out) is the Color Enable Package. If you don't have it, then many object recolors will not show up. And it's good to have the most up to date version. The first version was from Mar 05, with a new one coming out Sept 05, and a new one just came out Dec 05. I don't know how you can get the old versions, but the new version you can get here: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=92541 It's the "set up" which you want (as the other things are for people making custom content.)

The hack you referred to is not appropriate for discussion on this website since it is an "adult only" product. If you want to know how it works, please visit the site where you found it and please do not refer to it on this (or the official TS2 list). Doing so again can lead to a ban (on either list.)

Yesterday I found another reason for custom content to not show up: corrupted install. I had to reinstall my games yesterday and found that a corruption (very minor. I just had minimized it to look up a telephone number online) had prevented my custom content from showing up.

All 3 places where you have to tell it to show up had been appropriately marked and I had just put in a smaller version of my regular download file, minus the objects and hacks, and still *none* of my custom content showed up.

Fortunately, the reinstall worked just fine (but made me *very* glad that I have TS2 as the DVD version, since the most annoying part IMHO of a reinstall is having to juggle the discs.)
