How do you know your sim is pregnant? I want to know. I have been doing you know  . My sims are gonna grow oldld:and die:tombstone:before they have a baby.:(
Make sure your Sims are Trying for Baby instead of regular woohoo. Also, listen for a lullaby that plays when they...uh...succeed. Sometimes a couple will need a couple tries in order to do this.
It takes about three sim days. On the first day, the Mom probably will throw up in the toilet at least once, sometimes a lot. She'll at least hold her stomach and put a hand to her mouth. At the end of the first day she'll get all excited and spin into maternity clothes. She'll also get vacation time from work. At the end of the second day she'll swell up even bigger. At the end of the third day the baby is born. These "days" are measured from the time of conception (the sound of the lullaby.) I think I have this sequence correct. I'm sure we'll hear about it pretty quickly if I'm wrong. Wow, will you look at that! Kreativ got in there three seconds before I did.
Ew I thought I was gona throwup whene she pueked and left the toilet dirty. I am a neat freak and I am proud of it!
LOL Iply. I'm not a neat freak ... as a Gemini I am always amused to see that Gemini sims are messy as can be but there's no way I could leave a bathroom with the toilet pan decorated with little bits of carrot ...
Ahhh! Morning sickness! I'm so glad that Maxis did not leave this little detail out of sim pregnancies. And I like the way that they made some sims sicker than others. I've had sims that have not had one bout of nausea the entire day, and others that couldn't leave the bathroom. Usually, the ones who are sicker do not get pregnant again in my game unless I want to torture them.
They also will get a pacifier with a question mark above their heads. Yes, a near death experience isn't much fun unless you don't like the sim in question ... I had a sim who got really sick, once. And, like you said, others it doesn't bother at all. Vampires have it easiest, as they're asleep during the morning hours.
