Raj Delacroix and the Pizza of Death So, just in case anyone else gets the idea that accepting one little daytime pizza delivery couldn't possibly hurt your vampire, think again. Raj Delacroix, vampire and his non-vampire wife Ariel are expecting a simfant and she's kind of low on everything so I thought, I'll have him accept the delivery. Stupid pizza girl wanders around their very large property, Raj can't get to her, is in the danger zone before I can stop it and I have to spend the rest of the sim day keeping him in bed. Talk about nervewracking. When vamps are low on something they try to go take care of that need, which is always a huge mistake. Anyway, much anxiety for me! Fortunately he was in the gold, aspiration wise, so the second the sun went down I sent him straight to the energizer. Whew. I did not want to exit without saving as they'd just gotten married and she hadn't had the baby yet. Of course, after this was all over I realized she had a resurrecto-tron and could have brought him back, which might have been interesting story-wise, but at the time I just couldn't think clearly. Anyway, lesson learned. Daytime pizza is deadly. There. You've been warned.
I thought this was going to be ol' Raj's obituary thread! Glad to hear he survived. Vampires do get stupid during the day though. It makes me weary to play my vampire house because I have to manually put everyone to bed before they all burn up. Blah. Or, bleh.
I'm sorry off topic question, is it not a good idea to save and exit the game when your sim is pregnant but hasn't had the baby yet?
That's what I've been told. You can go to the neighborhood and then back again, but apparently exiting the game altogether is dangerous to the mother's health. Plus, I wanted her to have that baby, not a different one. And I would hate to remarry them when they had such a nice wedding party the first time.
I had no idea! Yikes. I'm sure I've saved and exited a game when I had a pregnant sim. Maybe not often because I'd be so keen to see what the baby turned out to be, boy or girl. But I know for sure that I saved and exited the game when Emmy was expecting. Now she's got a set of toddler twins driving me crazy.
I save and exit all the time when I have pregnant sims and I've yet to have an issue with a mother's health. I tend to get sims married, spend a couple of "sim days" playing them, get them pregnant and then exit the game. The next time I play is the pregnancy days, normally again quiting before they give birth, and then when I come back I play the three days the baby is an infant to toddler stage. So I guess I normally save and exit at least twice when a sim is pregnant. Maybe I've just been lucky?
Ahhh, the mysterious choking death! :( I've been told that what causes this is a bug in the system. When you save and exit BEFORE a mother begins her second trimester, something happens occasionally, that, when you return to the house, the mother stands up, grabs her throat, and dies. I've had it happen about 4 times in my game, so now I am afraid to save and exit before she "shows." I had one mom (My Tina Jerry/Simpson character, before the clean reinstall) whom I tried everything to keep her from dying, to no avail. I think I started that game over 10 times that night, trying to find a way to trick the game into not killing her off. What I finally had to do was move the entire family into a new house. This reset all their health meters, including the choking death, and she went on to live a happilly gruesome life of feeding people to her cowplant (especially husbands! hehe).
