This last article shows what a huge geek - and hopeless Sim-addict - I am. I actually created a MS Access database with my census data and used it to analyze and come up with all those statistics...
I'm wishing this Journal was a daily so I could sit down with it in the morning with my coffee. It's a lot of fun.
SSU STUDENT ELECTROCUTED, LIVES Sim State University junior Amy Surfman was electrocuted yesterday in her on-campus townhouse while attempting to repair her computer. She survived the ordeal and is recovering at home, according to campus paramedics. Pleasantview health & saftety experts advise against attempting your own repair of broken electronic devices unless you have adequate mechanical skills.
Sorry there hasn't been much to write about... the past month or so has been rather uneventful. But I do have at least one more story coming up.
SIM STATE UNIVERSITY GRADUATES FIRST CLASS The Pleasantview Journal would like to congratulate the first round of students to graduate from Sim State University. The campus was built just outside Pleasantview a little over four sim-years ago. Among the graduates are five of Pleasantview's own. Special congratulations and welcome home to: Orlando Centowski Alvin Futa (not pictured) Randy London Daniel Pleasant II Dell Summerdream All five of Pleasantview's returnees graduated *** Laude or better. SSU has announced that it will be tightening grade requirements for future classes.
LOL, Kit. Guess Underwater Basketweaving really hiked their GPAs. All boys, I see. Where are the girls?
Sheesh, it's taken me so long to get that story posted! My computer at home has been offline (my slot in my motherboard for my wireless card died - guess what I get to do this weekend), so I finally brought the pictures to work so I could post from here! Gee, I wonder if an exception could be added to the swear-word censor for if the word "Laude" appears right after it.
I think there are some girls in the next class (including the one who got electrocuted). Each time I send player Sims (Daniel and Dell this time) to college, I send any townie friends they have as well. And usually the friends are the same gender. There's also the fact that back at the time these guys were born, my Sims were popping out boy after boy... now I'm on a girl streak, so in a while it will be all girls graduating.
BIRTHS Drs. Aaron and Gillian Surfman proudly announce the birth of their daughter, Isabel. Isabel joins two older sisters, Jamie and Emily, and a foster sister, Amy, who is currently away attending Sim State University.
DEATHS Dr. Melissa Fancey was found dead in her home Sunday evening. Medical examiners confirm she died of natural causes. Dr. Fancey leaves no known family in Pleasantview.
UNKNOWN GEOLOGICAL EVENT ROCKS PLEASANTVIEW Some residents described it as a big bang. Others felt the ground shake. Some even described a spinning sensation. "For a minute there, I felt like somebody knocked not just one, but all of my screws loose," said one witness to the event. The truth is, no one, not even our best scientists, knows what happened to the ground underneath us this weekend. But after the event was over, everyone in Pleasantview noticed that something was very different. "Suddenly everything just seems to move faster," said well known celebrity chef Bottom Dreamer. "Like, before, sometimes time would seem to drag, and I'd almost feel like I was stuck in slow motion. But not anymore, now time just flows so smoothly." Her husband, Dr. Darin Dreamer, chief of neurology at Pleasantview General, had this to add: "Some of my patients have told me, and I see it too, that they see differently now. Colors are brighter; everything is so vivid and more detailed than before. We notice each and every blade of grass on the ground... every finger on our own hands... I'm the chief of neurology and I can't explain it." The event may have even caused one area resident to give birth early - the first premature birth ever recorded in Pleasantview. Mother and baby are doing fine. Scientists continue their investigation into this mysterious event and its apparent effects.
LOL, that's great...get a new video card did we? That is a great take on what they would think though! I love it!
Actually, new just-about-everything-else... I already had the video card, but my old motherboard was throttling its capabilities... only had a 4x AGP slot, new one has 8x. Plus a much faster CPU (Athlon64 3200+), bigger power supply, faster RAM...
