Problem installing the Patch During the instalation of the patch a box comes up saying there was an error installing it and the only option to click is OK. So I click it and the whole thing closes. Can anyone help me?
Please do not post multiple requests for help in different forums. The problem you have occurs when the game's main executable file has been altered by an unofficial patch (a hack) Have you downloaded or installed anything that alters gameplay? If so you must return to the back-up copy that the hack warned you to make before installing it. If you do not have a back-up your only course is to perfom an uninstall and then to reinstall the game. If you need to keep your sims you must make sure to back-up your saved games (look in My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\ -- just copy the whole folder)
