    Upside Down Screen

My version of the Sims 2 plays just fine, but whenever my Sims move into a new house, or get married or when a video plays on the game, I see it upside down. I have purchased two Sims 2 games and they are the same for both. It's really annoying, but I want to know if there is something wrong with my computer or if that's the way it's supposed to be.

I never heard of this problem before. Is your game for the PC? Or is it a console version?

Oh! Well it's not supposed to be like that.

Click Start then Run and type in dxdiag and click on OK

Report back here with the following info:
    • From the System Tab:
      • Processor: Make Model and speed (Mhz/Ghz)
      • Memory (RAM)
      • DirectX Version
    • From the Display Tab
      • Device Name
      • Approx Total Memory
      • Main Driver
      • Version
      • Date

Aha! Is that a laptop/notebook? It looks like your problem is associated with a compatibilty problem.

ATI graphics drivers are less familiar to me than nVidia. Check you have the very latest drivers at http://www.ati.com/products/mobile.html but be aware that Maxis do not support the game for playing on a laptop/notebook computer. If you have it working ... more or less ... then regard that as a bonus. :)

Follow the steps from here. (Why can't ATI make it easy? They block all my help except that.)

My TS2 in on my laptop/notebook, and it works great! Well. It's a little slow, but I think because I have the internet on there it doesn't help.

And also the 900 songs. And the PicturePackage. And the Roxio. And the 2 TS2 EP's.

I think I did pretty well!

Aw man. I had no idea that Maxis doesn't support the game on a laptop. And I always thought my laptop was better than the other desktop computers in my home.

I thank you VERY much for your help.

I didn't know Maxis doesn't support it either. My desktop wasn't anywhere close to running the Sims 2 and my laptop is amazing. By the way, I also have the ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9000 IGP and I don't have any problems with it. So I don't think it's your graphics card

Hmmm...I really don't know what the problem is. It's funny how computers work.
