The Sims 2 Holiday Edition is being a tease...

Everytime I install Sims 2 (HE) it says that the installation was a success, but when I click "launch Sims 2" my computer says that I don't have a file or it is corrupted. So, I click ok. Then, I click on the Sims 2 icon (which is still there) and an error box labeled Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library tells me:

    Program:...ram Files\EAGAMES\The Sims 2\CSBin\PackageInstaller.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the operations support team for more information.

I got this for Christmas and I'd really like to play it before I have to go back to Satan's land... a.k.a school. So, please help me! Thanks in advance. :]

Well, I assumed this meant I had to get in touch with EA technical support. But, in the back of my Sims 2 booklet it says to have my EAsy info utility report with me. When I tried to get it by following the instructions in my booklet, my computer said that it could not be found. So, I wasn't sure if I should still call or not.

Hmm ... Is the error message a Windows style error message? If possible show us what it looks like (if you don't know how to get a screenshot, do this: (1)Press The Print Screen on your keyboard while error message is displayed -- you need hold down the Shift Key. (2)Open a paint program such as Microsoft Paint or Microsoft Phote Editor and From the Edit menu select Paste As New Image (3)Save the image as jpeg file and upload it with your reply.

Also see this thread (click me) because we'll also need to see your system's technical data before a proper answer can be given.

It's early evening where I am (in Britain) so I'll be around for the next few hours to respond quickly ...

The ball's in your court. :)
