    Need more Sim friends

My Sim is in show business career track and he aspires to have 30 best friends. He already has 10 best friends and his cell phone and home phone ring off the hook. He spends all his free time calling or hanging out with friends. How can he manage 30 of them?! Is there a trick to getting up to that many friends? He can barely keep up with the 10 he has much less spend time making more of them.

They're called "impossible wants" for a reason. It isn't really impossible, but it is very difficult, like having 10 children, or 20 grandchildren, or maxing 7 skills, or having 20 simultaneous lovers (I wouldn't even know how to BEGIN doing that one!), or having 50 dream dates. It's hard to achieve these goals. Basically, their life has to revolve around fulfilling it. I suggest using every spare second when not at work or fulfilling motives to making friends. It will take a while, but eventually, it could happen. Good luck!

If you want platinum status but can't face making 30 friends you might want to try changing his aspiration. ;) But some here have convinced me that a sim in platinum is a boring sim. :p

Yes, I find them tiresome. Occasional unhappiness makes for more of a challenge. Platinum sims are like vampires, almost always in the green. I reserve it for elders, who have pretty much done it all already anyway.

I love vampires, but unless you set them up so they have a cheating spouse or a lot of kids or something, vampires can get pretty boring to play, too. Boring, and nervewracking, because due to occasional glitches your favorite vampire may turn to dust ... they've got nothing to strive for, career wise, they can't very well get jobs because if they get promoted they end up on the day shift. And since my vampires all went to college they get promoted a lot. I like that they're perpetually poor, though. That helps. Always in search of the green, not able to get a job ... that's what keeps my favorite vampires interesting. Maybe with Sims in Business vampires can get a little home industry going ... if I dare buy it.

So I'm glad when my sim gets an unfulfillable want, or a crazy one, given their aspiration. For example, I have a sim that I made a romance sim and then changed my mind in CAS and made him knowledge instead. His LTW? 20 simultaneous lovers.

But my favorite remains my vampire Raj, a knowledge sim with a want for 100 first dates. Shah. Right. For one thing, he's married ...

Oh but if u don't midn cheats , u could always try : boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true ( capitals included) and then click ur mailbox holding down 'shift' , u can choose from a wide selection of great stuff but if u click ' make friends for me' u'll get like...30 - 60 friends at once.
Works like a charm but do keep in mind that ur phone will be ringing ur ears off for the next few days ( these friends all love u and wanna keep in toutch ) ..so yeah but if u don't care about the ringing , this is ur cheat! Have fun and lemme know how it worked out!
    Sum Sum! *SimAddicted*

I tried this out last night. I didn't try clicking on the mailbox yet. For some reason I don't think I'm getting all the options that boolProp is supposed to give me. For example, when I click on a Sim I don't get any new options for them. I also thought I could shift click on objects like the swimming pool and move it, but it didn't happen for me. I was able to raise his moods and needs meters up to full green though. Also, I was able to go into his list of acquaintences and raise their green levels to 100 %, but it didn't make them into friends. I will try the mailbox tonight.

I think it will get sort of boring after I get him to platinum, but I do want him to have lots of friends and extremely popular because he is supposed to be a celebrity with lots of fans. :D

I'm afraid of using cheats. My game's glitchy enough without them. I had a sim I thought was cursed, but now that he's in a new house he seems OK.

Another option is to get Pescado's college clock and change your sim's LTW to something more reasonable. Non-college sims can have it in their homes for that purpose, though of course none of the college options work. Just click on "my LTW is lame" until you get one your sim can achieve.

Though if you really want them to have 30 best friends, all I can say is, good luck! I have a sim with 13 best friends and that's pretty hard to maintain. I suppose if I made it their full time job ...

to be someone's friend the both of their relationship meters must be mutually at the friendship level; altering the way that sim feels about someone doesn't change the way they feel about you.

it would be nice if it wourked out that way though

It does, eventually. You need to call them a few times, though.
