Troubleshooting Update process did not complete...

Update process did not complete...

"The update process did not complete successfully. Installation will now terminate."

I have the Sims 2 DVD and it installs fine. I try to install Uni/Nightlife and everything is fine until it tells me to insert the Sims 2 DVD to update the game. Then I get that message.

I don't know what to do. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the game and cleaned the registry, updated it with the patch and did the disk images thing. I searched the forums and saw that a few people have had the same problem but I still don't know how to fix it. Can someone please help?

Also this problem started after I formatted the hard drive.
