Huge ... freaking... SIGH Due to a massive partition crash my massive neighborhood project, one that included over 50 families, two custom univeristies, a custom Downtown, and almost 9000 custom objects, has to be entirely scrapped or started over. My backup disk with the neighborhood and objects is damaged and won't read. I wanna cry. :(
Just let it all out... Yeah, I'm not a computer person, so I don't know how to help you. My condolences. :(
Oh, that really sucks. I'm so sorry. I've had that happen and it's amazing how upsetting it is. I took a few days off and then saw it as a fresh start, but at first it was really hard. My condolences.
I'm so sorry. Right now I'm considering deleting everything from my computer and restarting over, but refusing to because a) I don't want to lose Sophia and Stuart (nothing happening yet, but I've been busy), b) I don't want to lose all my tunage (music to sane people), and resetting up AOL is just annoying. So the 180 whatever I have left will shortly be running out, and then I'll cry and then you'll all be sick of my moaning. So so so sorry!
Oh, Rowan!! Here, have a tissue. I understand. There's nothing more traumatic than having to start over. All those hours invested! All that hard work, planning, creatvitiy, GONE!! I think I'll cry with you. :(
Thanks, all. I thought a backup disk would save me, but no. Well, a few days off Sims might do me some good. Then again, I might go nuts. Jury's still out.
Have you tried a data recovery program? As long as Windows hasn't rewritten over it or you used a program to write 0s all over the hard drive it should be fine. I've deleted partitions and recovered files before.
No luck on data recovery. I had to reinstall Windows. I lost some things, not a lot, due to good backup, but my Sims 2 backup disk was not reading.
Oh, my! That's awful. (It just makes me want to burn a disc of my current game so that can't happen with me.)
