I’ve just put together a quick and dirty tool to help make clothing recolor mods for the Sims 4 CAS Demo.
- Additional Requirements:
- S4PE
There is a forum topic here for support / questions / suggestions.
You do need S4PE to make use of the tool, which you can get here.
Let the modding begin!
Instructions
- Download CASRecolor and unzip it in a folder anywhere on your hard drive.
- Ditto with S4PE, which you can find here:https://github.com/Sims4Group/Sims4Tools/releases
- Click “Load Package”, and open CASDemoFullBuild.package… probably in C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4 Create A Sim Demo\Data\Client
- Scroll down and find the CAS Part you want to recolor. Young Adult part names start with “y” (all the parts in the demo are YA); the next letter is “f” for female or “m” for male. That’s followed by the item type (top, bottom, body etc) and then an underscore and a descriptive name. Then there’s an underscore, and a description of the particular color (swatch) you’re looking at. E.g. “yfBottom_PantsSkinnyCalf_JeansBlueLt”.
- Check or uncheck the “Default Replacement” box, depending on whether you want to create a new recolor for the item, or replace an existing color.
- Click the “Create Recolor” button, and accept the proposed package name, or provide a new one. That will write a package file with the part you selected and its associated image files.
