Elevate the laptop without blocking any of the vents on the underside. Possibly try cleaning out the vents as well, they're probably full of dust.

How do they expect client sided blocking to work? At least our government wanted to block sites at the ISP level.
Upgrade the RAM and possibly the graphic card and it should be able to run rather nicely. The game shouldn't require too strong a processor.
