Can more then 1 person play the same copy of Sims 2 with out the time on the other player running?

Yes. You would need to make sure you enough disc space and then to set up separate Windows user accounts for each player who want to play the game on the same computer

Note that each user would then have their own saved games files that typically start at 2-3 GB in size and only get larger. You must make sure you have plenty of disc space to do this.

I'm not sure that's entirely necessary. Bill, I think what you asked was, can you play your neighborhood without affecting the other player's neighborhood, am I right?

If so, the answer is yes. You can play all you like in your own 'hood, it will have no effect on the others.

However, if you're playing the SAME neighborhood, yes, that will have some effect. If you don't play the same households it shouldn't matter too much, but I'd recommend you each have your own.

If, for example, you each wanted to play your own version of Pleasantview, then you'd need two accounts as Mirelly mentioned.

As the others said, you can play different neighborhoods or different houses from the same game on the same computer.

The time is house specific, so if they play the same house, the time will change. If they are not playing the same house, then it doesn't change the time for other houses.

If you move from one house to another, you'll see that they aren't on the same "schedule." It works more like the "time paradox" type of thing. It's the same as when you go to the community lots: the time at home doesn't change even when you manage (through things like the Multipainting or the MaxMotives cheat) to stay on a lot for days.

However, if you are asking if two people can be playing the game at the same time, no you can't. You have to have the disc in the computer which is being played, and not using it is considered software piracy if done so that another person can play it.

The game can't be played like a MMRPG game either.
