A Good Riddle I caught this on my radio earlier yesterday and it was a good riddle so I thought I'd steal it Batter Up! There are five ways a player can reach first base without hitting the ball. Name them. For example, if you were a Yankees fan years ago you might have heard something like this from Phil Rizzuto: Joe Pepitone takes his lead off first base. What are the five ways that Pep or any other player could wind up on first base without hitting the ball?
Well Baseball's NOT my fave sport and my some what weakest forte however I have heard of these phrases BB, HBP, CI, K However Do know one way possibly the fifth and only way a Batter can reach the Base 'safe' is "pinch runner" And recalling some details i once heard A batter can either Walk have a 'Base hit' Or Hit by pitch thens there's 'Error' and Catcher's interference other ways could be a 'Dropped third strike' and finally there's 'Fielder's choice' As I said Baseballs not really my strong point but I am fairly certain that these rules apply as in the Official MLB rules! I could be wrong though :biggrin: Nice thought and nifty time killing idea Josh! I did TRY (emphasis on TRY) research some of the terms FYI.. but got no where! LOL so had to rely on my "memory" so what ever the outcome it's all good
