A Simmer’s review of the CAS demo at the Apple Store Even though the CAS demo at the Apple Stores are suppose to hit sometime next week, a few stores already installed them on their machines.* One simmer had the pleasure of spending one and a half hour with the demo and brought back their views: Hello, Sim fans! I just returned from the Apple Store. I chose a large, Mac PC to play on. CAS was already up and running. All the photos you have seen so far have been accurate - I did not see anything I haven’t already seen (except for a few hair styles) from keeping up with screen shots, articles and videos. Therefore, when you get the game or play the demo, it will be what you are expecting. Overall, CAS was wondrous. I only got to spend 1.5 hours in the store - I could have stayed in there for much, much longer, as I’m sure you can all emphasize. I managed to slip away with a couple of photographs. I took four photos of my first, female sim with various hairstyles with different tabs open. I do not want to post them until the game is out. Questions: I was asked if, ‘adult sims can have children who are young adults’?: The answer is YES. Two adults, when making a baby, can have their children even up to adult age. I did not check elder, but it really seems as though anything is possible with this game. So, you really have nothing to worry about. Make a twin: I checked out the “make a twin” option. When you are in CAS, below will be icons of the sims you have made so far. In each box with the head shots of the sims, you can click on the sim desired and you can choose from edit, delete and make a twin. It is a picture of two stick figures linked together, like the relationship bubbles. The make a twin produces and exact duplicate of the sim selected. You can choose the twin and tweak the differences. That was a fun tool. Hair: The hair and colors were amazing. You can choose from ANY color possible - people were wondering if you can make auburn hair (brownish red) and of course you can! You can make ANY color and this goes with eyes, cloths, etc too! The possibilities are largely endless. Pre-made Sims: I checked out the pre-made sims - I saw a lot of the same sims used in screen shots - so don’t worry about that. I really loved being able to customize the muscle of each sim! Traits: For those of you who were wondering, you CAN’T make a sim with contradicting traits! Meaning, you can’t make an artistic sim who can’t stand art. What will happen - when you select a trait, it simply grays out all those which would contradict. Favorites: To choose your favorite food, they have a whole bunch of cute pictures representing the food itself. It doesn’t label them in text. The same goes for music. With color, it show you blocks with various SHADES of color - meaning they have blue, turquoise and light blue…it isn’t boring. It will remind you of the color wheel. Cloths: There is a medium selection of cloths to choose from. But, the customization is overwhelming! They have a list of shapes and styles, then you can go in and choose patterns or solid colors and make it look entirely different. I did not see an option for underwear, but everything else is there! I really love the shoes and the cloths. For each set of cloths (day wear, exercise, swim, etc) you can choose different jewlery, shoes, socks, etc - kind of like seasons. There will defiantly be room for more styles in EP’s. The amount of cloths is nothing to worry about because you have SO MUCH room for customization that it really wont matter. Hmmm. I can’t think of anything else on the top of my head. I will think of more later. I have an Apple Store nearby…I should consider dropping by and checking in to see if the demo is available.* Problem is, I’ve only been there once and that was to get my iPhone replaced.* It left a strange feeling on me…like the store and the employees are too smart for my standard…Felt like if I was wearing a Dunce cap the whole time I was there.
