    1) Did you do a search of this topic before posting, hon? We've covered this ground several times.

    2) Are you using the most expensive telescope? That is the only one that will allow you to get abducted.

    3) Even with the most expensive telescope, the odds are only about 5% (I'm sure that's not the exact number, but close enough)

I'm sorry, but those red flamey jumping things give me a headache. Could you consider changing your sig line? :(

On a more positive note, I've been playing since March and I have yet to have a sim abducted. And I've tried everything: expensive telescope on a platform taller than the house, still nothing.

It's just tricky, and I believe, random.

So, just keep trying, is all I can say.

I have the expensive telescope and spent quite a few sim hours/nights trying. However, never got abducted. So, I did a search of this site and found several different threads providing both "cheats" and hacks. I quit waiting patiently and followed the advise/information that I found. So, it's out there to be found!

I know the cheats are there, I just don't like to use them. Call me a stickler, but I like things to happen "naturally."

The only cheat I use is the money cheat for a) wedding presents or b) if I have a sim whose goal isn't "normal," like Bev from Bev's House of Beauty.

I keep meaning to play her, and then I get bored. Kennedy Cox has GOT to change his outfit, though. He's just too dorky to live. Guess I'd better knuckle down and do that makeover ...

OK, I also used it when I made a mistake on a custom piece of clothing. I let my sim buy the new improved one, free of charge. ;)

You talking about "Motherlode" or "kacth kling"?

ive only used motherlode like secound time i played to get my dream house(That kinda cool masion thing in pleasant view).

but I reinstalled and now I have no sims living in there, although,I do have one kinda filthy rich sim but I worked for the cash.

so I worked for like about $500,550 and hes got a mansion "I" built.

Oh and my best sim died today :( he "HAD" once goooood life but i guess i shoulda got his "cooking" skill up before I went akf<---away from keyboard with him cooking.

    oh well.

oh and ive been abducted by aliens when i didnt want to:( my sim was getting logic or something and he got abducted btw theres only like a 20% chance you will.:D

I thought it was only a 5% chance. I know it's definitely not as high as 20%.

Or, if you're in my game, 0%. I have never accomplished it. Strangetown doesn't count.

I wanted a green Nova baby, but no such luck.

Nah it is about 20% u just gotta try at it.

    heres a abduction tip

Always put the telescope atleast 3 spaces away from your house.
have a sim with knolage asperation it wil lhappen more.
make sure that your sim is not at the start of a new age.

TRUST me those are good tips, also i was reading theres a cheat or a hack to get abducted i dont know whati t is though.:silly:

What about vampires? Can they get abducted? I've been thinking about it since Candida is past childbearing and Duke is still young. :p I've thought, cool, a green baby would be nice. I'll have to give Simsyth's advice a go.

It is not 20%. That percentage is entirely too high! It's 5%, so says the Prima Guide. And even if you do try tog et abducted, there's no guarantee it will happen. I say there's a 5% chance, but it's still random. If you use boolprop, you can shift+click the telescope and click "Be Abducted."

I don't see why vampires couldn't get abducted, Lynet, though I haven't heard of any instances.

Thanks for the tips, simsyth. I have a sim who built a platform next to his house (it's more than 3 spaces away). He's a knowledge sim in the prime of life. Still, nada.

But it's good to know that I'm doing the right things.

I'd really like to throw a monkey wrench in his perfect life. A baby would do the trick!

I've had 2 abductions ever (only one green baby though) and both of them took place on a balcony of the second story of the house.

So we're back to random. :D

Which is how it should be.

The only time I've had an abduction (besides the Curious brothers in Strangetown), is when I forced it using boolprop. I was desperate! The wife was barely pregnant, so I boolproped the guy into being abducted, so of course he came back pregnant. Come to think about it, it was Meadow Thayer and George McCarthy from Pleasantview (right after I got Uni). I gave the kids the weirdest names. I don't remember the little girl's name (I think it started with a V), but the little alien baby was named Uriel.
