    all wound up

Lately when I ask a sim to "go here," he or she RUNS as fast as they can. I wonder if this is a mark of having high body scores. But my house now has four doors and different sims (family of eight) go in different doors for different things, and they're all coming and going from school and work, and bringing home friends and ice-skating and RUNNING from the back door out into the yard and around the front and back in the side door in order to get a slice of pizza from the desk in the office where someone else RAN with it after taking delivery. Makes me tired to watch!

Meanwhile, one lonely sim is out talking to trees and laughing.

Aw that poor lonely sim, standing outside talking to trees! LOL. :D

As for your runners, they might just be very active sims. :silly: I had this 'problem' before, once. My todler had just grown up into a child and the first thing she does is run to get her cake, taking a really looong way around (she ran out of the room, ran out of the back door, ran around the house and entered throught the front door - I mean, what was THAT about??! The cake had only been a few centimeters away from her so there was no need for all that running, LOL!). And she would run everywhere! But she grew out of it when she became a teenager though.

When my toddlers transition to children they always run instead of walk on the first day. Then they usually settle down.

Sometimes I wondered if it could be blamed on the smart milk that I poor down their throats for their entire toddlerhood. :p

These are adults, and they didn't used to run. Also they have had high body scores for a while. For some reason, a few "sim days" ago, they started running. I wonder if they've had too much of the various juice cocktails I "pour down their throats" like smart milk? Or a few too many boot milkshakes. That still cracks me up.

Often my adults will run when I've told them to walk. It really annoys me, especially as these are adults who are low on the lazy/active point scale and have no option to run anywhere.

I like to take action pictures, but I usually want WALKING action.

What happens if you just have them move a very short distance? Still running? What about directing them to some chore that's only a step or two away? It sounds like a glitch.

They run even if it is just halfway across the room. But not always. If it's a glitch, it's a funny one. Alvin is walking in from the street, just home from work, when he suddenly sprints into the living room, stops, walks to the fish tank for a quick look and then runs into the bathroom. And so on. It makes them all look a little anxious (especially when they're wearing space pirate and undersea explorer and master criminal outfits.) There is one who never runs - the one I've enslaved as a gardener - all she wants to do is have babies and sleep. No wonder!

Jiko, could you have downloaded a hack that makes them run everywhere? I once downloaded a lot from somewhere, forgot to run it through the "Clean Installer" and soon had about 10 Alien Babies because my sims kept being abducted. I finally realized I had downloaded an Alien Abduction Hack with the lot.

No downloads. That computer is not connected to the internet. It's just my peculiar little people.

I think this glitch is a cousin of the "jump bug". I've had this happen to my sims before. It usually goes away on its own after a bit but you might try using the boolprop cheat to "force error" and "reset" your sim.
