argh! the clicking! make it stop!

I have a couple of sims who have recently acquired a rather annoying problem. Their wants and fears are re-rolling every hour. They are coming up exactly the same most of the time (occasionally one want will be replaced with a new one), but the incessant clicking-slot-machine-spinning sound is really getting on my nerves. As far as I can tell the only sims affected by this are both elders, and not in the same household.

Now, this may have started up when I installed University. Though most of y'all have been playing with Uni for months, I only got to play with it a little bit before I got my job and went on TS2 hiatus. When I started playing again a couple weeks ago, I found most of my households still in that all-green reset state they end up in after an EP install.

The only hacks I have intentionally downloaded are JMP's, and I don't download lots so I don't think I could have obtained any other hacks unknowingly. So, does anyone know, is this a side effect of Uni, or of a hack? Or is there some other reason this might be happening?

Since the affected sims are already elders, if I can't get rid of this I may be driven to send them to an early demise... :devious:

This is one of the Uni odd side effects. If you haven't played a family in a bit, they'll sometimes spin like crazy for awhile. The way to silence this nuisance is generally to just shrink the wants panel. It will stop eventually.

That's been my experience as well. Once in a while I get a sim who seems "stuck" on spin but it stops eventually and straightens itself out.
