ATI Radeon 9250 not listed...

On The Sims 2's website, it says it is compadable with :ATI RadeonTM series (7000 or better)
• Radeon 7000/VE series (non-T&L; requires 2.0 GHz processor)
• 7200, 7500
• 8500, All-In-Wonder 8500
• 9000, 9200, 9500, 9600, 9700, 9800
• X300, X600, X800
---------------------------------------------------------------
I am planning on buying a :ATI Radeon 9250 Video Card, 8x AGP, 256MB DDR... Would this work because it is not listed in the ATI Radeon list. Thanks in advance!:D

Here's were this graphics card is found...http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000B8H0PO/sr=1-2/qid=1142209739/ref=sr_1_2/102-3204490-6249765?%5Fencoding=UTF8&s=electronics

Oh and by the way...how much RAM do you think I should have to run Sims 2 smoothly. Thanks again!!

How Maxis lists stuff on their site is by Series. So they mean the 92xx series, which the 9250 falls under.

However, don't think of your wallet here in terms of short term. Think a bit long term. Buying a cheaper video card now may only hurt you later on if the specs gets higher.

Is the 9250 cheap?

It's considered a low-end gamers card. Cards like the ATI 9600, nVidia FX5600 and FX5700 can basically do the job without flinching while the 9250s might have a lil struggle.

It should, but if you are going to spend that much, you might as well jump to the GeForce 6200 series or something similar.

Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 lags my machine:

3GHz
1024MB RAM
Geforce 5700LE 256MB

^This gives me 4fps.

As long as you play small parks, you should be fine.
