Before I get the new computer Okay, the computer I am currently using is HORRIBLE! Therefore, I have decided with my birthday and christmas money I am going to buy a new computer that will make The Sims 2 run very well becuase I'd like to be able to truly appreciate it, especially after University comes out. This is the computer I'm planning on getting (just follow the link I'll provide). I notice it has an NVidia graphics card, would someone who has the same or similar Graphics card please tell me if it's worth it or should I buy a Radeon or something? Thanks! Basically I'd just like sort of "approval" from someone who knows a lot about computers if they could just tell me if it was good, thanks! http://www.cyberpowersystem.com/highendsystem/infx700.asp?v=d#configurator_top
So which of the Geforce cards were you thinking of getting? The Geforce cards are pretty good and in terms of the PCX cards, they are better than the Radeons listed. I'm not as familiar with the 6200, as that's the newest of that line, but I do know that the 6800 is a good card. The 6600 is a lower ability card (which makes me suspect that they made the 6200 as a bargain card like the Radeon x300.) Make sure that you get an upgradeable motherboard that can handle at least 800ghz bus (which is the output of the processor). I'm not familiar with those particular motherboards, but the processors they list have mostly 800ghz (except for that top 3.4ghz which has 1066ghz FSB) so they probably can handle the processors. And if possible, it's a good idea to have a gb of RAM, not just 512mb. (TS2 uses a lot of RAM and processor, especially if you want to use big houses.) At least the processors listed can handle the game pretty well if the RAM and video card can handle what it can put out. (The 3.8ghz one and the 3.4hz had me wishing I could afford better than I have.)
