Before I install OFB... I read the above thread by Mirelly and it was very helpful. One question: Before I delete my downloads folder which includes my hacked objects, do I first need to go into the game and delete said objects from each individual lot?
Ooh good question! Chalks up a point for Mango. Answer. No. The game will do its best to get around what's missing. It's not advisable to actually load up families that have seriously hacked objects because all sorts of unforeseen malarkey might occur but ... essentially the game will render the lots (and the sims on them) as best it can if the required files are missing. Sometimes this will produce comic visual effects ... but it may make the house unplayable (until you delete/replace the affected items). BTW Most downloaded items such as clothing, genetics, make up and furniture (both Maxis recolors and new meshes) ought <ahem> to work perfectly well with OFB. Other items that should work without problem include Merola's Multi-Painting. Hacks that are likely to become unstable or even counterproductive to play include the excellent Pescado hacks. Oh how we fishster addicts pray for a speedy delivery of OFB to the fishy dungeon of hacky goodness
Thanks Mirelly! I am prepared to follow all instructions in your post above and hope really hard for a problem-free install! I most certainly will miss the "Awesomeness" but I also can't not install OFB as soon as I grab it away from the UPS man.
His Fishiness indicated that it would be 6-8 weeks before his game would be delivered. (This is in line with what he waited for with both Uni and NL. I told him he must be living in the Aleutians!)
