Behind the Scenes We're nearing some major staging points internally where we're comfortable discussing more things. Our CMS that we selected initially had a chance in license agreement, which forced us to reevaluate everything. After reviewing the updated terms, we felt that the terms no longer favored us as a customer and therefore we've decided to abandon our recent CMS selection. We're currently in the process of finalizing a CMS selection and we hope to deploy an early beta sometime before November. Also coming is a new login methodology, but I'll talk about this later
Content Management System IIRC. Useful as it allows people to update pages a lot easier and dynamically compared to the old static HTML days. Interesting that you're announcing this Josh, as usually a site running a CMS looks no different to the users. What are you planning to do with the CMS?
I hate to say it, but we might. We're moving the CMS and forums closer together. We're trying to integrate a ton of new features and technologies to help people move from one part of our site to another with ease.
Steve's convinced me off the forums to share the Love Nyx.. Next time something breaks, we gotta blame you now :ducks:
So I wanted to invite everyone to go to http://www.vbulletin.com/forum and check out the new version of vBulletin.... I'm personally not happy with the layout, but they're saying it's "evolving". Thoughts on it?
What's wrong with the layout? Do you mean the theme? I don't really like all the rounded edges on everything but change is good.
To me, a theme represents colors and image types. Layout for me is where they position everything, artifacts, text, objects, and so forth. That also includes those rounded edges and such. It just doesn't feel right.
