Chris Hecker confirms layoffs at Maxis There are a number of Spore players who wished Chris Hecker would of been fired when it was mentioned that he was the reason Spore became ‘cute’.* However, even Will Wright denied the fact that Chris was not responsible.* Either way, that’s not going to matter now…according to the man himself, he was one of the 24 who was laid off yesterday.* Sad to hear that, I actually liked the guy after meeting him in August last year.* You have to give him some credit – he did help establish procedural animation.* Not all is lost, he’s currently working on his indie project Spyparty.
