Creating my own destinations I'm trying to create my own vacation destinations and I have some questions about it: 1. I created a destination which uses twikkii island map. I noticed that the water looks different in my version of the island. Why the water is different? 2. What kind of buildings I need to put tto the new destination to make it work? 3. I have heard that sims can visit secrets locations. How to create them in my own vacation neighborhood? 4. Let's say that i have a vacation neighborhood X. I join the X to neighborhoods Y and Z. Will the people from Y and Z go to the same X neighborhood or will there be different locations for each neighborhoods?
Ooh ... me ... meeeeeee. 1.No idea about that, except to suggest that Maxis tend to cheat a lot adding secret code to their stuff which makes stuff behave different. Examples include NPCs who always behave really oddly even if you marry them ... I had a uni llama mascot who still occasionaly turned up wearing the stupid llama costume as a senior citizen. 2. I would think you'd need at least one residential place (hotel, holiday home, etc.) plus one community lot (preferably one that sells souvenirs and has a "local" cuisine seller.) 3. This would fall under the cheats remit. Note that the above cheat doesn't have a code for making a secret location ... you would need to Google yourself ... or just experiment in game with various options ... start with typing help in the cheat console and read the ensuing long list 4. Neighborhoods are always entirely separate. So the subhoods (uni campuses, downtowns, shopping districts and holiday resorts are all unique to the hood for which they are created. This is because the neighbourhood package in User\Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\ (ooh how very Vista of me ) contains a file for every sim that exists in that 'hood and all its sub-hoods. Criss-crossing neighbourhoods is not therefore possible and it sure ain't desirable. For example if you export a sim from Pleasantview (who knows the Pleasantville Goopy) to Veronaville and that sim meets the Veronaville flavour of a Goopy they will (surprise-surprise!) not know each other yet. Eventually the transplanted sim will know two different, but otherwise identical Goopys, one of whom will never be reachable by phone. That "orphaned" character is added to Veronaville as a character file and such bloat is what makes neighbourhoods explodicate eventually.
