custom videos on tv So I made my first short video in Sims 2 (a cooking show) and put the file into the television folders. It worked! But there's a problem: now the TV ONLY shows my custom video instead of cycling through the usual shows on the Yummy Channel. Anyone know why this is, and if I can fix it?
Which file? My custom one? Then I'd have the old options back but not my new one. I want it to play all of them.
Copy files from program I'm assuming you dropped your custom file into My Documents/EA Games/Movies/Broadcast/TvFood. Leave it there and go up to Program Files/EA Games/The Sims 2/TSData/Res/Movies/Broadcast/TvFood. You should find 3 Quicktime movies there. COPY them and PASTE into the TvFood file in the My Documents. . . etc. . . file. Now you should have 4 movies in the that file. I assume the Sims2 program looks first in the My Documents game files. If and when it finds anything there it doesn't read the Program's TV broadcast files. I played around with this because I wanted my custom film playing on all channels while I was filming a party (in case guests started switching channels.) Then I decided to leave the film on one of the channels but got tired of seeing it run endlessly. Copying the Quicktime movies into the file seemed to do it. My custom movie has no sound. The TV gets quiet when it plays. Nice change.
