    Error when running Sims2

When I try to run the Sims 2 on my notebook, it seems to work when it feels like working. WHen it does work, it is great, when it doesn't I get an error msg. I am running the game on an ASUS A6U notebook with all the required specs to run the game. This is the error msg that I am recieving:

Sorry I can't make that any bigger, it isn't letting me.

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing, and this hasn't fixed the problem.

But if anyone can help that would be awesome!!
    thankyou
all I wanna do is play the sims

Running TS2 on a laptop is always problematic. Windows error messages are often generated when a piece of hardware is not working or unexpectedly unavailable. It may be that if the system is too warm the BIOS cuts out the Directx element of the display drivers causing Windows to interpret the "fault" as an error.

Certainly as an explanation this accounts for the on/off nature of the problem ...
